Lovely one story home in the desirable West End, University of Richmond area close to all that Richmond has to offer. The comfortable home is beautifully furnished and offers guests every amenity. It is fully equipped with linens, and everything you need for cooking and dining, has a screened in porch, deck and patio. In addition to the three lovely bedrooms, sunlit living room, dining room and kitchen there is a spacious den with library, tv and dvd, two full bathrooms, and a washer and a dryer. In the bedrooms there is a queen bed in the master, two twins in another and one twin in the third bedroom which doubles as an office with desk, internet and telephone. The rear patio, deck and back porch are perfect for sitting outdoors or in to enjoy a meal as each has dining furniture. The location is ideal. The home is 5 minutes from I-64 and 10 minutes to Carytown, the Fan, Historic downtown or Shockhoe Slip, Stony Point or Short Pump. We are a short walk to the Village Shopping Center which has grocery, drugstore, restaurants, and Starbucks; and 5 minutes from Libbie and Grove with boutiques, restaurants and a movie theater. 5 minutes to numerous parks and U of R. So much to do in this area of Virginia, both in and around Richmond to visit the numerous museums or a day trip to nearby historic and recreational places. Williamsburg is less than one hour, as is Charlottesville. The beaches and Washington DC are a two hour drive. Spring, Summer and Fall are beautiful in central Virginia.

I have been a part time resident of Richmond for 12 years. I love the city and all of Central Virginia. The history, architecture, gardens, climate and hospitality of this area of the South never get old. I spend part of my time in a second home elsewhere and this comfortable and charming house is just waiting to be enjoyed by someone else.
The Owner purchased this house in 2004
Easy and relaxing one floor living.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Richmond and the house on Borden Street was a big part of our vacation there. We enjoyed the pool and outdoor areas very much. Its accommodations exceeded our expectations and the owner was very pleasant, answering all questions and concerns promptly.
No complaints about this house. It is great for walks and indeed jogs from the house with gas and grocery store minutes away by car. The house is exactly as described and pictured and had many of the small grocery items there that can make a stay like this a bit more expensive. Loved to sit out by the pool, and in the sunken room for the World Cup. Everything we could have wished for was there. With the house as a base we travelled all over and my wife assures me the local Malls were great. I would like to give a mention to the Rock Brewery at Stony Point. If you like a good draft beer locally brewed then this restaurant/diner in the Mall is the place for you. The sampler selection is a great place to start.
I'd like to finish up by making what I think is a really important point. For me when I read reviews the most important thing is how the owner/ management deals with the problems that can beset any renter. We had three blips ( one I hasten to say which was entirely down to me). These problems were dealt with super swiftly and somebody was there within basically the hour. Linda was fantastic and even provided hints on the best time to travel up the 95. One of the best owners we have dealt with
I have no hesitation in awarding this home 5 stars and would definitely come back again
My husband, daughter and I just returned from this property. We used it as our home base for college visits in the area. The location is perfect. Just a few minutes to the U of R and one hour from William and Mary/Williamsburg and an hour from UVA.The home was cozy and well appointed. Plenty of space to "do your own thing", when you're not out exploring the beautiful surroundings. My husband staked out the the sunken family room(with fireplace) to watch sports on TV. I couldn't decide between the comfortable living room and the patio/pool area, both were great for reading and tea drinking. My daughter(and her iPad) claimed one of the bedrooms. The house is located in a great neighborhood if you enjoy early morning walks or runs. Everyone I passed made eye contact and said "good morning." Plenty of bedding and dishes. There is a grocery and gas station just around the corner. We had great meals at Stellas on Lafayette and Bistro 27 and a Carytown restaurant. I highly recommend this property. Linda was quick to respond to every query
What an amazing vacation we had! After driving for 12 hours with 4 kids, we opened the door and instantly felt at home. The house was wonderful, well maintained and very comfortable in a nice neighborhood close to everything. The furnishings were very clean with plenty of fresh linens and towels. We cooked most of our meals at the house and had plenty of dishes and cooking utensils. We wanted for nothing. It was definitely a home away from home with the added benefit of a pool for the kids to jump into after we returned from our sightseeing each day. The owner was wonderful to work with and we look forward to working with her again as we plan our next trip to Richmond.
We had a very relaxed stay. It truly was like being in a family members home. Linda was so nice to work with in making it possible for us to stay with a very short notice. We will definitely stay again.
Stayed for a week to visit family and also take my son to visit colleges in Virginia and North Carolina. So nice to come back to a home in the evening, and not a hotel. Comfortable, spacious, close to everything we needed. Landlord very easy to work with. We will come back.
