Hau'ula is a village with 'real people' ... a truly spiritual place, on the ocean, with the most beautiful, private beaches in Hawaii. Hau'ula is home to many Native Hawaiians and other Polynesians. Ko'olau Country Gardens Guest Houses are located high on the hillside of the Ko'olau Mountains, overlooking the small town of Hau'ula with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. There's not a better location on earth...we love it!
We chose to live in Hau'ula because of it's people, weather, natural beauty and location...far away from the crowds of Waikiki and Honolulu. The pace is slower, life is more informal and people are good friends and neighbors.
The property is agricultural with many tropical fruit trees and an organic, aquaponic garden. There is plenty of food to eat right on the land. We have started growing tilapia and catfish in a large stone-walled fishpond.
