Photos and Description of the Rethymno vacation rental A self catering summer rental with lovely views, large terraces and garden.

Villa Equus is a newly built (2007), self catering summer holiday rental. Situated between the White Mountains and the sea (just 3 minutes away), in the north west part of Crete near Georgopoulis, it provides the perfect base for a relaxing, romantic holiday. The accommodation comprises two air conditioned bedrooms, one and a half bathrooms, a large living/kitchen area and two large terraces. The ground floor terrace leads out onto a delightful garden with steps down to the pool. The upper terrace also looks out over the pool area. Both terraces provide shade, whilst there is also ample opportunity for sun worshippers to indulge themselves. A Weber gas BBQ is provided for cooking outside on those balmy summer evenings. The house is furnished to a high standard with contemporary Italian style wicker furniture with the emphasis on living outside. The fully fitted kitchen features a hob, oven, dishwasher and large fridge/freezer. There is satellite TV with DVD player & a CD music centre.

Villa Equus is situated in a lovely quiet area just 3 minutes from the beach. The White Mountains provide a spectacular backdrop and just 4kms away is Lake Kournas.The area is non-commercial and ideal for a relaxed romantic holiday. The beautiful fishing village of Georgopoulis is just 4km away where you can find numerous tavernas, bars and shops. This has a bustling atmosphere at night. On the beach are many tavernas and beach bars, serving a variety of food from simple (but lovely) local cuisine to meals that will appeal to everyone. Nearby is the Venetian town of Rethymnon with its ancient fortress. The old part of Rethymnon is simply beautiful, with its lovely harbour and market type atmosphere. In the summer, concerts, ballet, theatrical performances and traditional song and dance are performed at the Venetian fortress. Good shopping is also available. In Chania province, there is the stunning Samaria Gorge with its wonderful views and walks.

The ground floor bedroom has a double bed and is also air conditioned with, again, a good amount of wardrobe space. The double doors open to the rear of the house to give views of the White Mountains.
