Central, quiet location, 6 mins walk to Gondola, all amenities close by

Quiet, central location, this apartment is extremely well appointed, sleeps up to 4 comfortably. Beautiful views across the mountains (3 floors up on the South side with the views and balcony). And the 'Finishing Touches' are:

-In House Wellness (Sauna, Jacuzzi, Steam, Whirpool, Solarium, Kneipp) and 24 hour Gym

- Our Concierge lives on site and is lovely and helpful

- Central and quiet location means you can walk to every amenity

- 6 minutes walk to the gondola

- 3 minutes walk to the thermal baths

- Tip top kitchen equipment right down to the sharp Cook's knives (I have certainly stayed in holiday rental properties, where the knives are just soooo blunt!)

- A library of around 40 DVDs, something to suit every taste

- A log burning stove that makes for a lovely cosy evening

- WiFi if you don't totally want to step off the world....

AND WHY CHOOSE LEUKERBAD?

It is the small brother to Saas Fe, Zermatt, and Crans Montana, and still preserves the feel of a mountain village and is BETTER VALUE than it's neighbours!!

A bit about the village....: All facilities/shops are within walking distance from Residenz Ambassador, so for those who prefer not to drive, it is not essential to have a car whilst in Leukerbad. Public transport gets you to Leukerbad with Swiss efficiency, by train and then connecting bus. The tourist information in the town has information on all walks and activities available and the bus station can book tickets for excursions out of Leukerbad, to local towns like Zermatt or as far away as Milan and Rome.

German is the main language in Leukerbad but English works well if you want it to. You can also use French and Italian, so don't let language be a barrier to experiencing this delightful little town - plenty of old, quiet Swiss charm (you can hear the cow bells tinkling from the balcony in the Summer months), soaring and dramatic snow capped mountains surround the village, and you can watch the tumbling waterfalls from both balconies in the apartment.

Shops and facilities: .Walking distance to the many restaurants and shops. The shops include: Migros supermarket, Pharmacy, Wine Shop, Bakery, Charcuterie, Fromagerie with lots of local cheeses, Tourist Information, Banks, two Ski Hire and Outdoor Clothing Shops, Chemist. Beautician and Hairdressers, and Beauty and Wellness treatments at the Lindner Alpentherme, along with great medical facilities.

Summer and Winter Holidays in the Swiss Alps. Arrive easily by car or public transport from Geneva, Sion or Berne Airports. 1 hour to Zermatt, Saas Fee, Crans Montana and Brig. Travel on to Milan through the Simplon Tunnel. Over 50 kms of downhill skiing on the doorstep. Cross country skiing trails. Europe's largest thermal baths. Rhone Valley for some lovely Swiss Wines just 20 minutes drive down the hill. Walking and hiking. Swiss Alpine Biking Trails. Child-friendly activities include swimming, ice skating, minigolf, playground, tennis.

Other Activities: Thermal Baths

Golf: Golf is available in Leuk in the valley. An 18 hole course. There is also a great course at Crans Montana, about a 40 minute drive away.

The PGA European Tour - Crans-sur-Sierre, Crans Montana.

Ski: The main ski area is on the Torrent, and the Torrentbahn cable car is 400m from Residenz Ambassador. There are more than 50km pistes, some have seen World Cup Races. But if you are a beginner or early days skiier, don't let that put you off! There is another area for beginners, which is accessed by bus and the bus stop is just up from the apartment. Cross country skiing is on the Gemmi (bus or walk to the Gemmibahn) and trails are also created in the town just below the apartment.

Sehr schöne Appartementanlage mit tollem Wellnessbereich und allem Comfort innerhalb der Fereinwohnung den man sich wünscht. Sehr nette und umsichtige Betreuung vor Ort. Preis Leistung ist hier top, was in der Schweiz oftmals nicht der Fall ist. Der Konntakt zu den Eigentümern war sehr kompetent und herzlich.
Übrigens hat die Wohnung einen genialen Südbalkon mit herlicher Weitsicht ins Tal hinein. "Tina in my opinion the appartement needs a new sofa in the living room" but that is just a little detail. ;-)

Wenn noch einmal Leukerbad, dann komme ich bestimmt wieder in diese Wohnung.

We had such a brilliant time here. The apartment was gorgeous, beautifully furnished, very comfortable and very reasonably priced. The town itself is beautiful, surrounded by breath taking mountains and scenery. The walks, thermal baths, wine tasting and great food all made it an amazing holiday and we definitely want to go back!

We found this spacious apartment to be well-equipped, well-situated and immacuately clean. It also had luxurious details and beautiful views. The concierge was very professional and helpful. The owner was quick to respond to our enquiries and very accommodating. We had a lovely stay, would stay again and would recommend to others.

We had very nice time. The apartment has an excellent view on mountains, particularly during sunny days. Apartment is very well furnished and equipped. The wellness center was also excellent. I will highly recommend this apartment and the place to other visitors. Many thanks, Tina!

Idyllic Snow Holiday in Leukerbad

This property has both valley views as well as magnificent mountain vistas from every window. It is well located just a short walk from thermal baths, restaurants and the chair lift to the top of the mountain and ski slopes.

The property is meticulously maintained and features original artworks as well as state of the art kitchen set up. You can choose self catering and you can be sure there will be everything you need, including ground coffee.

The audio visual set up was also very impressive. High quality TV and DVD facilities. During our stay we only managed about 10% of the wide variety of DVD's but there was something for every member of the family from teenagers to adults. There were more than 100 DVD's . Thank you also for an impressive range of novels for those who love reading.

The skiing in Leukerbad is sensational. As Australians we were used to long lift lines and busy slopes. Imagine our joy at waiting less than 1 minute the whole week; hardly time to take in the extensive panorama of Swiss Alps we have only seen in coffee table books. The weather was very favourable in mid-January and we appreciated that. Lots of snow and the Swiss instructors were thorough in their teaching and convivial in nature. One afternoon I co-incidentally shared a cable car with my insrtuctor from the morning and he was keen to know how I had managed the left hand run off the chair lift.
(NB. It's a tough one for beginners!!!)

Back to the apartment and I can not speak highly enough of the pre-arrival information we received from the owners as well as the greeting and orientation from the concierge, Anna. We straight away felt at home. The apres ski facilities at Ambassador are very comfortable. Imagine lazing in a warm spa and still with a view of those majestic peaks through the expansive glass picture window at the relax room. Although we didn't have a car, the garage facilities are excellent and I can understand what a bonus that is because I saw the struggles of many car owners who were starting up outside on the street.

Finally, while we were lucky enough to have a brilliant winter holiday, I saw plenty of opportunities for summer vacation. There were walking tracks and facilities suitable for different seasons and a variety of activities. With such a superb base as this property you can enjoy the mountains every week of the year.
