In the heart of the wine country, a golden room with private bath and a hot tub just outside on the deck overlooking the vineyards of Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County, California. Separated from the main house, high up on a second floor over a quiet Feldenkrais studio, behind the garage, it has it's own entrance and much privacy....an aerie, your own private heaven. The eyes meet with dramatic views of the valley floor with Geyser Peak in the distance.
What a wonderful place to stay for local events! Find yourselves one mile from the Vineman bike route, three miles from Lake Sonoma, nine miles from Healdsburg, where you can rent a kayak for kayaking down the Russian River or rent a bike to go biking in the Dry Creek Valley, and also located within walking or biking distance of numerous wineries for an exquisite wine tasting experience.
Winter brings a more quiet time and our farm can become a secluded restorative hideaway for rest and relaxation. Reading, long walks in the fresh air, contemplation and clarification...all are possible..
You may hear occasional sounds of tractors, roosters, dogs & cats. You'll be on a small farm.
We are a 70 year-old married couple who work at their own businesses. Stan manages small vineyards and Charlotte is a Feldenkrais Practitioner.
We have lived here for over 25 years and this is our most favorite spot in all the world!
Charlotte Chavez purchased this studio in 1986
Stan built this vacation rental over Charlotte's studio and connected to a garage so that we could have room for family and friends when they visit.
Walks in the vineyards, kayaking out at the lake, bike riding, wine tasting, wonderful local restaurants and a great Farmer's Market! Plus lots of things to do in the nearby towns of Healdsburg, Geyserville, and Cloverdale!!
David and I had a great time and really enjoyed getting to know you and Stan. Sitting on the deck eating breakfast as the sun came up, looking out at the incredible view of the vineyards and mountains, and then being in the hot tub at night under the enormous blanket of stars are memories I'll always cherish. It was perfect!
We look forward to going back again.
Thank you for sharing your home (and pooches!) with us!
I can't recommend Charlotte and Stan's studio enough. Our stay was so wonderful that we really didn't want to leave. The studio was clean and comfortable, the view from the private deck was lovely (overlooking the vines), and Charlotte and Stan were wonderful and thoughtful hosts. My favorite details were: the fresh flowers in the apartment, the warm croissants in the morning, and the private hot tub. The combination of the great studio and Stan and Charlotte's care really made for the perfect weekend getaway. One thing to note is that the wifi was not very reliable in the studio. In my opinion, this was a good thing. It gave me a real excuse to stop working and sit and "smell the roses". I highly recommend this rental for a romantic getaway in wine country. Stan and Charlotte, thank you for making our stay so wonderful. We hope to see you again soon!
We had a wonderful time with Charlotte and Stan at their vineyard getaway. They were a wealth of information to us as first time visitors to wine country. They gave us off the beaten path places to go to not only in wine world but other places. The studio was super clean. The bedding and bed were incredibly comfortable. The only thing that was missing was a kitchen sink so we could wash up the dishes from our morning breakfast and coffee. The muffins and fruit brought to our deck side retreat every morning were just the right morning breakfast! We were close to several wineries including the Raymond Burr (across the road). This winery would be the perfect place to sit with a crusty loaf of bread, some cheese, a bottle of wine (I recommend the Malbec) and just look at the beautiful view. Lots of great restaurants in Healdsburg that we enjoyed. Geyserville is close as well! Catellis was a great Italian place to eat! The view of the vineyards in all their autumn glory were one of the highlights of staying on the farm. We also had pomegranates from their tree as well as persimmons.
My sweetie and I had a spectacular, relaxing time at The Farm! Charlotte's hospitality was above and beyond what one would expect--she and Stan were so welcoming and friendly, but also gave us our privacy. Her homemade croissants were to die for! We enjoyed the hot tub under the stars both nights, and appreciated being so close to the lovely wineries in the area, including Trione Vineyards where our friends got married at that weekend.
The views of the vineyards surrounding the property were amazing. We will definitely visit again!

Such a great place to stay! We stayed four nights during our honeymoon. Right in the middle of beautiful wine country with fabulous views. Breakfast of the best fresh fruit and amazing warm croissants delivered each morning by a cheerful Charlotte or Stan are probably what I'll miss most. You can tell they care about their guests. The bed was very comfortable, the room had everything we needed and the hot tub was a very relaxing way to end our days after visiting wineries close by and dinners in Healdsburg. We even stayed in for dinner one night. Charlotte and Stan are fabulous hosts. We wish we would've had more time to chat and play with the precious pups who greet you upon your return to the farm. Charlotte even mailed me a prescription bottle I left. You won't be disappointed by staying here.
We absolutely loved staying at the Farm! The room was beautifully appointed yet down-to-earth and comfortable, and the location was what I would call ideal: in the heart of the Dry Creek Valley (my favorite part of Sonoma County), away from the main roads, so you really feel the peace of the country, yet a fairly short drive to "downtown" Healdsburg. What else? Hot tub right out our door! Stunning views of the vineyards from every window! Fantastic, friendly, helpful hosts - Charlotte and Stan. Thank you so much for your hospitality! The fresh fruit and croissants were a wonderful breakfast treat. We also enjoyed their two adorable dogs, Rosie and Farley, who met us with wagging tails as if we were their long-lost buddies. This was the perfect place for a weekend getaway for my birthday with my boyfriend. We would definitely love to return! Dining tip: Restaurant Charcuterie in Healdsburg, recommended to us by Charlotte. French bistro style, reasonably priced, less of a "scene" than some down the street but with absolutely deliciously-prepared food -- everything from the fresh vinaigrette to the house-smoked chicken and roast pork tenderloin. Lunch or dinner, it's a local gem.
Had a excellent Labor Day weekend at The Farm. The Dry Creek Valley turned out to be exceptionally beautiful and quiet, and required only a short drive to Healdsburg. Dozens of wineries in the vicinity. The accommodations are simple and clean, with a great outdoor deck overlooking nothing but vineyards, and there's an excellent jacuzzi for two. The hosts are friendly and accommodating, and the dogs will be happy to see you. Recommended +.
We now have Wi-fi!
Charlotte is a Feldenkrais Practitioner and it is possible to arrange one or more private sessions with her during your stay.
