Grand Bahama Island is a hidden gem. It has numerous beautiful sandy white beaches and we see at least 3 shades of blue every morning when we go for a walk across the street to Taino Beach. The people are so friendly and helpful, there are no language barriers and we feel very safe at all times. There is a distinct Bahamian culture and the people are very proud. It has a direct flight on Westjet (peak season) and only takes 2.5 hours from Toronto. That can be shorter than driving through Toronto! This is the case for many U.S. flights as well. We also see many Europeon's vacationing here and have said how beautiful the beaches are on our Island. This Island is quickly becoming the destination of choice worldwide. Most times there are seat sales which makes it very affordable to come for a long weekend. They take American dollar at par and this island has duty free/tax free plentiful grocery stores which make it very desirable for large families/friends to vacation here. The Island is appreciative for foreign travellers coming which makes for a great holiday when visiting Port Lacaya Casino, shops and restaurants located 5 min. drive away. It only takes 10 min. to tour all main attractions and the sea is a whole other world of exploration. All of this and more are the reasons for choosing to buy a vacation property in Grand Bahamas Island. You won't regret coming and will look forward to booking before you go!

That being said, every room has a tv,dvd if you want some alone R&R time. The family room has an entertainment centre, games, latest dvd movie library and for those less savy (like me) board games, cards and books.
Our home is completely renovated with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and marble floor. All bathrooms are completely renovated with granite marble deep soaker tubs.
We also have an 800sq. ft loft which has 2 queen beds and a large office with a computer to keep in touch or do business.
For the outdoors, we back onto a pool and canal which you can swim in both or go across the street to Taino beach (5 min. walk).
We are 5 min. drive or 2.5 mile walk to all the shops, restaurants/casino in Port Lucaya. It is so quiet at night that you can hear the ocean with the patio doors open.
Our family have told us how beautiful the breeze is here and there is no humidity from Oct. to March because we live so close to the ocean.
We could not have asked for a better place to stay! From the beginning Belle was incredibly helpful and he property manager was there to take us to our condo and checked in on us through out the week to make sure everything was going well. He hooked us up with a great fishing tour too! The place itself you couldn't ask for anything better! Belle has everything you could possibly need there, it's clean and roomy, the beds are comfy and it's even baby friendly!!. The condo is in a great location close to a lot of amenities, it's safe, and close to Taino beach. I would highly recommend this place for any families next vacation, it's a little slice of paradise!
Wow! where do I begin? We've just returned from a 2 week holiday on this fantastic island. Our experience was top notch from the beginning conversations with Belle to the final conversations once home.
Belle and Mason's home is exactly as it is portrayed on the website so you won't have to worry about what is advertised and what you might get. There were 6 in our party and there was more than enough room for us all.
Miss Betty was there to greet us and was sweet as could be. She popped in now and then to see if there was anything we needed or brought us fresh tomatoes off her vine. It was also really nice to have free calling back home!
The location was perfect for us as it was away from the busy areas but close enough that we could take a short ferry ride into Port Lucaya. Just outside your front door (5min) walk to the left is Taino Beach and it is exactly as you see in the photo up to the right hand corner of the page. The sand is fine and the waters warm. A 5 min walk to the right takes you to the cute like ferry that takes you a short distance into Port Lucaya where you can shop or try their local restaurants.
Just out your back door there is a pool....it may be a community pool but it's like your own private pool as the other tenants don't use it. After a few hours at local beaches it was a nice way to spend our afternoons beside the pool with drinks and snacks. The canal is also right outside the back door. Mostly pretty quiet, sometimes the banana boat with screams of laughter will pass by. At night we would lay on the dock and watch the stars or watch the phosphorescent water light up in the dark. A great way to spend the evening!
The beaches we went to were as pretty as the one outside your front door. We snorkeled with a company called Exotic Adventures and Keith was our captain. They were the best price and took us to a spectacular area. This was probably the best money we spent while there.
Andrew (our friendly concierge) was so good to us! He seems to know everything about anything....and he made us THE BEST dinner!!! It was nice to know someone was picking us up at the airport too. Andrew took us to the local Fish Fry (every Wednesday night) where we had such a good time eating the local foods and dancing the night away.
I could go on and on but I'm sure you get the idea of how our two weeks were :)

Our family stayed and Mason and Belle's place for 1 week (March 2015) and absolutely loved the place and location. Being set back from the road and away from all the hub-bub allowed us to enjoy quiet dinners, dips in the pool, sitting on the patio with wine and friends, and relaxing in peace. We had rented a car and used it to the fullest extent enjoying the other end of the island's deserted and miles long beaches, nature trails, high rock point with Rev. Cecil Kemp (he has a man made lighthouse), and general tourism.
Mason and Belle have a plethora of tourism ideas they leave for everyone and you can update them as you fine details and leave more for the others.
The use of a phone and wifi make the stay even better being able to communicate to family and friends back home in Ottawa ON CA and surfing the web for ideas or details.
HIGHLY recommended and wouldn't consider a hotel for a second.
The accommodations were excellent. Belle and Mason have thought of everything to make your vacation wonderful. The Villa had all the comforts of home only better because of the location and weather. We had 6 adults and never had a problem with being to close. Belle called us upon our arrival to make sure everything was okay. She provided us with a local cell phone and a magic jack phone to call the US or Canada for free. She also has wifi. Betty the caretaker also was very helpful. We loved the location and we enjoyed Taino Beach. Belle and Mason also arranged for a private chef to come in and prepare us a dinner of our choice. Chef Andrew was amazing he made the most delicious dinner for us lobster, crab, chicken, rice along with the local
island beverages. He came over to arrange the menu and we asked him about a car rental and we ended up renting his car. He brought us bait and a few groceries. I have been on a lot of vacations and this by far is one of the best. I don't often give excellent reviews but this place truly deserves it. Thank you Belle and Mason for everything. We will be coming back!
If you really like water, serenity, tranquility and security then Belle`s house is for you. It has implacable location:
- It is right on canal (clean, blue, calm and inviting)… You have dining table right on a water and Dinner with candles and full moon is highly recommended...
- You also have a swimming pool in a back of the house and lounge chairs to greet morning with your coffee
- Then you have two beaches; both within seven minutes walking distance from your “Bahamas home”.
- The beach on the right – is part of Flamingo Bay resort where you have restaurant right on the beach and lounge chairs, as well as lazy river, pool, etc.
- The beach on your left have other options; lounge chairs (rent) and two beach bars inclusive famous fun place called Tony Macaroni. Both walks are safe and easy.
- You are also five minutes away from ferry and Market place area with casino, famous Flying Fish restaurant that is right on a water, has a great music and micro food ( classy place), shops, fun, more music and more fun … you can do it every evening and will be never bored …
- If you are sick and tired of civilization and want to have music that will not let you sit down and will keep you up on your feet, have nice cocktails sand and beach, you go on the left along the beach… Fish Fry place is great!
- The rest of info about car rental, parks, museums, taxi, other beaches you will find in Bell`s home; everything is maliciously arranged and have all answers for any questions. As a courtesy of house you have house phone that you can use to call for free to USA and Canada
House is very nice, clean and well organized.hammock on a balcony of master suite is heavenly. We hardly have time to watch TV when we are traveling with our family. The couch in the leaving room was so comfortable and big that we made the exception and spent some time watching comedies and laughing till late night.
And last but definitely not the least is Belle … she made everything possible for us to enjoy this trip, her house and Bahamas with her remote hospitality that were the most exceptional.
Oops, we ate your grits, Belle and we hope to pay you back on your trip in DC. We owe you our 2015 New Year Eve and bright begging of the year. Thank you for everything! The house and location is highly recommended!
We stayed at this beautiful condo for a week in November. We were pleasantly surprised on the size of the home. With the 2 master suites both with ensuites on the second level, a bedroom on the main level then to see the one in the loft which was very large. The house was immaculate. My husband was quite pleased with the fishing on the dock in the morning having caught a few fish everyday. If you are going down for a nice quiet relaxing holiday this is the place to be. Betty was wonderful, very friendly and was waiting there for us when we arrived.
Port Lucaya is 3 miles away with a casino, restaurants and shopping. You can walk, drive or take a boat ferry (500 meters from villa) for $6 return.
We have created an information book for your convenience which lists taxi/ferry service, car rental, attractions, take out menus/excellent restaurants, grocery locations, spas and home services (cooking/cleaning, dog/babysitting) to make your stay enjoyable and stress free.
We are located across the street from Taino Beach (5-10 minute walk) which has all amenities including a water park, restaurant/bar, lazy river pool with water slide and lounge chairs with covered hut for shade.
