Relax on the private deck, or down by the water with a drink and a loved one and enjoy the silence, nature and fresh air. The porch swing in the screened area is also a favorite spot in the evening or in the morning for breakfast at our small table.
The house will comfortably sleep 12 with 2 master suites with full bathrooms in close proximity, one bathroom with sauna, and the other with whirlpool tub.

monica or mike purchased this house in 1999
The property abuts a conservation area and is within walking distance to Frontenac Provincial park which offers miles of well marked trails and great canoeing.
The cottage worked out perfectly and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their stay there. What a lovely ares Fred James
The Relaxing Waterfront Retreat, is exactly that!
Mike and Monica were amazing hosts. During the entire booking process, they were kind and fair, and very open and honest with us.
My husband and I booked this property for our family for a quick getaway. It was absolutely perfect! There are 5 rooms, all clean and updated. Monica left us with clean sheets, towels and a spotless house!
The home itself is inviting, open and tastefully rustic. It has a very genuine "cottagey" feel to it, which our families loved! We were so happy that we were allowed to bring our small dog Leo, which made our trip complete.
The waterfront has a great dock (and Muskoka chairs!) along with a canoe, paddleboat, and kayak just for our use! There was a shed filled with water guns, and fishing equipment as well. The water was great to swim in, and theres a Provincial Park (Frontenac) just minutes away of you're looking to hike! There's a games room downstairs that has a great ping-pong table if it rains, and some family friendly board games. Not to mention a huge flatscreen TV complete with lots of DVDs!
We were so happy and pleased with our stay, and will definitely be booking again and again! Thank you for your hospitality and letting us stay in your beautiful home!
We had a wonderful time last week at this cottage. Seven of us where there for the whole week and then others came for a visit at the beginning and end of the week. We particularly enjoyed the canoes and kayaks and the time spent exploring the lake. Frontenac Prov. Park was a good place for hiking trails. The air chair in the screened porch was another favourite spot. We've rented before in Muskoka and near Peterborough and found this area to be much much quieter and peaceful. We spent one day in Kingston which was nice too. The 8 year old and 5 year old in our group loved the little rock island just off the dock. The fire pit was close and convenient too. Mosquitos and bugs were not a big problem which was another very positive part of the experience. We would definitely consider coming back.
We recently rented this cottage for a week long family reunion (grandparents, parents, 2 kids and 2 dogs, 9 people total), and had the greatest vacation we've had in years! The cottage is really well kept, with all the amenities necessary (including the linens, towels and some staple items for cooking). We really enjoyed the screened porch and the deck to relax or BBQ, and the front yard where the kids could play safely. On rainy days, the house is big enough so that people can enjoy their privacy and avoid getting "cabin fever", and with enough distractions (wifi, TV, boardgames and books) to wait for the rain to go away. Besides the awesomeness of the house, we felt like we were alone on the lake, whenever we would fish (plenty of sunfishes and bass in this lake) or go canoeing (we were able to all go on the lake at the same time with the paddle-boat, the canoes and the kayak!) we could enjoy the scenery all by ourselves. All in all we had a fantastic and relaxing week, and we really hope we can go back next Summer, Thanks M&M!
I booked this cottage for a week and didn't know what to expect (renting a cottage can be a bit shady sometimes). Dealing back and forth in advance with Mike and Monica was extremely pleasant and they provided great directions to the cottage.
We arrived to find an extremely clean, fully stocked (towels, sheets, dishes, boat house) cottage with the convenience of a house but the beautiful charm of a cottage. It's rare to find a rental where the pictures don't do it justice, but that was the case with this place!
We had two families and the space was more than enough for downtime and privacy when you needed it. The bedrooms are beautiful and spacious.
Mike also dropped by and gave us some tips about the area which was really handy. We canoed out to a boy scout camp beach near by that was lovely to spend the day at.
Thank you so much Mike and Monica!! It was a real pleasure being there and my family will never forget our time there!!
Four generations of my family (up to 13 people at one time, from the US and 2 different provinces) stayed at this house over the Canada Day weekend. We found the house very comfortable and clean and it was able to accommodate everyone very well. There are so many activities to keep everyone busy both indoors and out; we really appreciated the well-stocked boat house with canoes and a kayak and all the lifejackets that we would need (especially those of us who had traveled by plane to get there and do not bring these sorts of items). The access to the provincial park is easy and we visited there several times also. The food pantry was a lifesaver for all the grocery items we needed over the week and there are staples provided for our use like spices, which we appreciated. The living spaces are lovely and the screened-in porch was a quiet place to relax and talk. There is ample room for kids to run around on a rainy day indoors and the ping pong table was fabulous for the children too. The TV is large and there are many DVDs available to watch. We also made good use of the Wi-Fi for email and the web. The hosts were available before our rental by phone and email concerning questions that we had, and even dropped by to make a minor repair on our request during our stay. They are excellent people to rent from. Sydenham is a short drive away for amenities. All in all this was a terrific choice for our family, the key to a great reunion, and we will consider staying here again.
Our property is situated less than 1 km from the trail center of Frontenac Provincial park (wilderness camping only) which offers plenty of well marked hiking trails and portages.
