We have been vacationing in Michigan for years, but after our first visit to the Leelanau Peninsula, we knew we had found the place where we wanted to buy our vacation home. Our kids (8 and younger) may be the only people who love the area and our home more than we do.
David Ouyang purchased this house in 2013
We thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful and well-appointed new lake house. Each window of the living areas frames the panorama of the harbor. And the house itself was so comfortable. We appreciated the cozy master bedroom, the great kitchen, the deck and yard, and the generous sharing of recreational items and kids’ toys. Nothing was missing! The property has a yard – not always a given in a vacation home and so nice when you have small children along – and the beach and water were perfect for all of us. We loved the Traverse City area and all of the scenic recreational areas of Lake Michigan which were nearby. I hope to return to the area in the future and would happily rent this property again.
Born and raised in Traverse City, this home is perfect for my visits up North to see my family. My mom lives just 10 minutes away and loves to come down and "vacation" with me at this beautiful home. It is located on a perfect street to run or bike on, not too busy and most people are respectful to us runners. Beach is great and water not too deep. Love sitting out on the back deck and listening to the waves at night and looking up at the beautiful stars. Home has everything you need to cook or grill, nice fully stocked kitchen. Owner is super nice and easy to work with. I have been renting this home for the past 3 years and love it more and more each time. Thank you David for opening your home to my family.
My wife and I and our two grown children, their spouses, and our grandchildren spent a wonderful week here in July 2014. The house and included amenities are incredible -- well thought-out and covering a wide range of recreational interests and age groups. Loved the kayaks, loved the beach/dock/firepit, loved the kids' toys, loved everything! David and Kim (the owners) handle the rental themselves and were most conscientious, responsive, and gracious hosts. Communication was excellent throughout the reservation process and the trip itself. The best vacation rental (home or condo) that we have ever had, and we've had a lot of them. Highly recommended!!!
This beautiful home is ideally located near Sutton's bay. It has relaxing views of the water from every room. The home is decorated in a beach meets shabby chic style. Perfect for families. Our kids loved the beach and bunk beds. Its a short drive to Traverse City and other areas of interest such as Sleeping Bear Dunes. Owners are more than attentive and went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful stay!
This is a beautiful home with a spectacular view of West Bay. The three bedrooms are configured well to accommodate adults and kids. All bedrooms are very quiet even when there's lots of activity in other parts of the house. Each has its own bath which eliminates the scheduling in the mornings. The house is relatively new and is nicely furnished. Everything you need is there including an exceptionally well equipped kitchen. Lots of "toys" are provided including foosball, air hockey, a couple of cruiser bicycles, two kayaks, puzzles, games, a wooden train set and a big drawer full of Legos. Easy access to the beach with dock. Great location to explore the Leelanau Peninsula from the Sleeping Bear National Lakefront to Leland's Fishtown to the wineries to the Northport lighthouse not to mention excursions into Traverse City and Suttons Bay. The best part of waking in the morning is the immediate view of the bay. Stunning, relaxing and really feels like you're on vacation!
We recently spent a week at this property with our young children and it couldn't have been better. The house was very clean and well appointed. The beach was great for the kids because it was so shallow. The kitchen was very nice. The location is great if you want to really explore the Peninsula; we went to Glen Arbor, the Sleeping Bear Dunes, Fishtown, and Northport. The house is also very close to many vineyards. We loved it and would absolutely stay here again. One of the perks my son enjoyed was the drawer full of Thomas the Train engines! We could tell the owners take pride in their home, and after having some bad experiences with VRBO rentals this place was paradise.
