Famagusta Vacation Rental : Protaras/Kapparis

We stayed in this beautiful newly built apartment in April 2009. My partner and I stayed there with my teenage daughter and her friend for a week. The apartment was fully equipped, as described in the property details. It is very modern with two swimming pools which are soley for residents' use. There is also a tennis court and a gym which the teenagers (both aged 14) were too young to use as the minimum age is 16.

It is situated about a 5 minute walk to local shops, bars and restaurants. However the local supermarkets are quite expensive but there is a huge supermarket which you need a car to get to but which is only a 5 minute drive away. The prices were considerably less here (maybe on a par with Tesco's).

The busier town of Protoras can be reached by car at which there are shops and a good selection of some very good restaurants.

The beaches overall were average and not amongst the best I have visited but they are clean and there are watersports available on some of them.

It is vital to have a car for the location of this apartment but there are plenty of hire car places nearby. However as we were arriving quite late in the evening we decided to organise private transport from Larnaca at a cost of 45 euros each way. In hindsight we could quite easily have driven the 50 minutes to the apartment as we did have good clear directions from the owners.

Ayia Napa is about a 15 minute drive away although as it was early season, many of the restaurants were still closed. The Water Park in Ayia Napa was fantastic and we spent the whole day there. It has lots of different flumes etc and literally hundreds of sunbeds to laze on.

It was a perfect apartment for a family of four and an ideal holiday if you just want to relax and enjoy good meals out etc. We were very fortunate with the weather for that time of year with temperatures reaching 25 degrees... but we did have some showery and overcast days..
