This modern and newly furnished villa is set on the side of a hill with views across a small valley towards the mountains. It has two double and one twin bedrooms, with new, comfortable beds. The fully equipped kitchen includes a pizza oven, dishwasher, and there is a utility room with a fridge and washing machine.
The top terrace includes a grassed area, and a terrace below has a private sun deck, heated swimming pool, and outside kitchen with gas BBQ, fridge and hob. This is ideal for self-catering summer holidays. There is parking for 2-3 cars to the front, with large locking gates for security.
The property is securely fenced, making it safe for young children. The house is in a No Through Road, with little traffic. It is a very quiet location and yet the centre of Montauroux is only a short (7 minute) walk away, where there are bakers, a butcher, a bank, a pharmacy, boutique, post office, newsagent, grocery store, bar and restaurants.
The villa is not easy for those who struggle with stairs.
Village location: The villa is situated a short walk ( just over 5 minutes) from the centre of the village of Montauroux. This has restaurants and a range of shops, with stunning views over the Esterel hills from the central square. There is no real need to drive anywhere once you have arrived!
During the summer Montauroux is famous for its music festivals to suit most tastes, often in the central square.
The butcher speaks some English, and will make burgers from fresh beef in front of you. He has excellent sausages, and other meat, for the BBQ.
There is a market in the village every Tuesday selling fresh fish, cheese, meat, fruit, vegetables and clothing.
Several days a week locals play Boules in the square. They attract quite a crowd!
Wandering down to the village in the morning for a croissant and a coffee in the sun really can't be beaten!
For those people who like to keep in touch with home, English and other daily newspapers are printed in France and sold in the newsagent on the current day.
There are two boutiques in the village selling up to the minute French fashion!
The Area: There are a number of old, walled villages from Grasse along the Fayence valley. Fayence is the biggest, with a large selection of restaurants to suit all budgets. Seillan is small, but absolutely charming.
There are a selection of supermarkets and regular shops, with a mixture of opening hours. Leclerc is a short drive from the villa, and has a wide selection of produce, in particular a stunning fish counter.
The Terre Blanche golf and spa centre is also a short drive away. The spa facilities are breathtaking, and the two golf courses are of championship standard. The pricing reflects this! Less expensive golf can be found at St Endreol, or several other courses towards Grasse and Cannes.
Lac St Cassien - a 10 minute drive - is said to be the biggest lake in France, and provides all kinds or water based activities. Many visitors prefer it to the beach! Parking can be a problem in peak season.
Beaches are a half hours drive away.
Fayence is a major gliding centre for enthusiasts
Children are very welcome. There is a safety gate at the top of the stairs, two swings and a little slide in the play area as well as toys for the pool. There are two tiny outdoor chairs for our young visitors. Very small children may find the steps to the pool area difficult.
The elderly may also find the stairs and steps steep.
The toilets are upstairs and in the summer kitchen area.
There is plenty of welcome shade outside, some provided by the many olive trees and some by umbrellas.
