Indulge yourself in a daydream in The Ancient City trip

We just came back from a 10 days stay in Athens. We lived at this apartment the whole time and are glad we did. The apartment was clean. Both bedrooms were quite big and the living-room was bigger than it looked in the pictures. The kitchen and bathroom are not top-modern, but were clean. The kitchen felt small when the four of us sat down for a meal there. However we had most of our breakfasts out on the really lovely and big veranda, and most dinners out on restaurants. There were two bakeries within a 2-min walk so we made a habit of going out buying fresh bread for breakfast every morning. Some mornings we had pigeons joining us for breakfast out on the veranda. They were a annoying and not afraid of people. We had to chase them away so we could have our meal by our self.

There is a supermarket within 4-5 min away by foot. The supermarket looked small at first but when you walk in you will see that is in over two floors and it has everything you need. The fruit and vegetables was not always all that fresh but there is a fruit and vegetable-store even closer to the apartment.

The owner of the apartment was quick to answer all my e-mails in the booking process and had clear and good instructions for transferring the deposit. We had a couple of technical problem when we were there (stove and DVD-player who did't work properly). The owner was quick to fix those problems.

The apartment has a combined washing and drying-machine. We used it several times since we stayed that for so long and traveled with children. It worked fine.

The neighborhood was quiet and we felt safe there. No disturbances from traffic. We mostly used the Sugrou-Fix stop when using public transportation. Metro, trams and many busses stops here and its only about a 5-min walk from the apartment. Sygrou-Fix is only one metro-station away from Acropolis and around 20 min by tram to OK beaches.

I can recommend this apartment for everyone. It's in a great location for exploring the city. Among the things we enjoyed most was the days we had on the beaches. The tram passes many so just choose one you like. We spent a rainy day at "The Mall" shopping center. Of course you have to see Acropolis and other historical places. We made a day-drip with bus 122 out to Lake Vouligameni. Really lovely place with little fishes who gather around your feet. Recommended!
