WONDERFUL VISIT TO BRISTOL RI

  • 5 of 5
The Gardener's apartment was the perfect place to stay. It has all the amenities of home The pictures of the apartment were exact, comfortable, quiet and cozy. The Castros' were the most pleasant proprietors and more than helpful in finding our way around Bristol regarding restaurants, which were excellent and informing us of Bristol's interesting history. Would recommend to anyone the Gardener's Apartment in Bristol RI. It was a memorable vacation and hope to return again someday.

GREAT STAY AT THE GARDENER'S APARTMENT IN BRISTOL

Great stay at the Gardener's Apartment in Bristol
  • 5 of 5
We were in Bristol for a very quick stay at a wedding. The Gardener's Apartment was the perfect place for us - great location within walking distance to everything in town! The apartment is exactly as pictured and was extremely clean and well maintained. Rachel and Ed were amazing hosts - baked treats were there when we arrived and we got more fresh treats for the drive home! They also gave us a great dinner recommendation for a place nearby and even called ahead to get us a table. If we're ever back in Bristol, we'll absolutely stay with them again and I highly recommend the apartment!

Owner's Response: Nice receiving such positive comments about "The Gardener's Apartment" from Laura and Chris, two great guests from Ottawa, Ontario. They were visiting Bristol to attend a wedding and we did get to spend some time with them between their wedding events. A very nice young couple. We hope that they come back to visit us again and spend more time exploring Bristol.

Had a lovely stay at this location - had rented both apartments and all who stayed enjoyed being there. The location was terrific - easy walking distance and the hospitality unsurpassed! We received baked goods several times a day which really made our visit extra special! the owners were very gracious - helpful at every turn and thorough in showing us around and acquainting us with everything in the apartments. Their gardens were incredible - they've really got a hidden oasis there in town... will return there again to be sure!

EXTENDED STAY AT THE GARDENER'S APARTMENT

Extended stay at the Gardener's Apartment
  • 5 of 5
Our family booked a three week stay this August at the Gardener's Apartment in Bristol RI. Our extended stay was due to the fact that we live in a year round rental which we have to vacate each summer when the owners choose to have their vacation there. So, as interested as we were to explore Bristol, we were also feeling sad and displaced to be leaving our own home for such a long period of time. What we didn't know until we arrived was that we were entering a cozy home whose owners (who live in the second floor apartment) would welcome us like family. Ed's gardens are beyond beautiful and the sun-warmed tomatoes appeared daily at our door. That was only matched by Rachel's good cooking which she shared generously; cornbread, Kale soup, brownies, linguica sandwiches. Every question we had about where to go and what to do in Bristol was not only answered with full research and back up pamphlets, but we were offered both walking and driving tours (take them up on it; Ed knows more about Bristol, its history, architecture and townspeople than anyone else in town!) The three weeks flew by much too quickly and much to our initial surprise, it felt as difficult to leave the Gardener's Apartment as it was three weeks earlier to leave our own home. We have already booked ourselves into the apartment for the same time period next year. But we wont wait that long before we drive the half hour back down the road to sit on the shared patio with Ed, Rachel and their son, Paul, and pay a visit. And by the way, Bristol is a really wonderful place to hang out as well. Enjoy.

Owner's Response: Nice folks; great guests; and wonderful comments. Lani and Breck, along with their children Kwang and Emme, became part of our family over their 3 week stay at "The Gardener's Apartment". They enjoyed our accommodations and gardens, and we enjoyed spending time with the entire family. We are looking forward to seeing them again next year.

WONDERFUL VACATION

  • 5 of 5
Ed and Rachel and their son Paul are wonderful hosts and made us feel right at home. They took care of us like we were family. The apartment is immaculate and I enjoyed using the vintage dishes. The gardens are beautiful and we appreciated Ed sharing his gardening knowledge. Rachel baked for us! Delicious - She gave me a cookie recipe that our grandchildren loved and I can't wait to try it to see if I can get the same results. We had a wonderful time staying in Bristol. We were impressed by the pride in home and the friendly people. There was so much to see and do. Our first vacation with our grandchildren, ages 4 and 2. We went to Colt State Park two days -the most beautiful state park we've seen, right on the ocean. The children enjoyed the wide open spaces, playgrounds and Bristol Town Beach. We also visited Blithewold Mansion and Coggeshaw Farm Museum.
Shops and coffee within walking distance - we'd love to return for the 4th of July celebration another year. Thank you Ed and Rachel for a wonderful vacation home.
