About Mary Lowings

we have never got tired of Les Trois Vallées, summer or winter, with every year finding new places to go and things to do.We love enjoying time here with friends.I am so glad I gave up my day job to do the holiday rentals in the properties, it is a joy to share this stunning place with others and so rewarding.

Mary Lowings purchased this chalet in 2007

Why Mary Lowings chose Les Allues

We love the picturesque and traditional village of Les Allues. It is the best of all worlds: a traditional French village right in the heart of the Méribel Valley, beautiful any season of the year. The chalet and village have a very warm feeling. The Chalet was totally renovated 5 years ago to a high standard with all modern facilities, but with a cosy Alpine ambiance. Just right to feel very home in the mountains. I am proud to have been awarded 4 stars by the Méribel tourist board and their coveted LaBelMeribel certificate.

What makes this chalet unique

The chalet is very spacious with fantastic views. You get more space for your money by not being in the centre, but still easy to access the whole area. The village is quieter than the centre of Meribel, especially at night!

Guestbook comments from the manager

The chalet was lovely again.

We had a wonderful time and we all voted to return next year as we have walks we would still like to do. Austin definitely wants his birthday to be in France again and Isla is considering postponing hers from May to August so she can have a French birthday too!!!! And she HAS to go swimming in Bozel Lake!

I’ll be in touch!

Alpine Charm

  • 4 of 5

This is a delightful chalet nestled in the charming village of Les Allues.

We stayed in the second floor of the chalet with the gorgeous balcony views and extra space upstairs for tv viewing or in my case yoga. It's oozing with traditional Alpine charm and frankly we found it hard to leave in the evenings as it was the perfect chill out environment for my family after being on the slopes. We had breakfast inside and out depending on the weather and the attic double room provides a lovely escape from the rest of the family! Mary has thought of everything and her customer service is excellent. Even putting herself out after I left a watch in the chalet. The place is not an isolated spot - its in the village albeit high up. But the mountain views from the windows and the decking coupled with a 5/10 walk to village to get croissants each morning provide a very authentic country atmosphere. And it was much appreciated to leave the Meribel buzz behind each day. You can easily go back into town by a free and excellent bus service that takes no time at all and is highly recommended to avoid the meribel car parks etc. It took us a while to get used to the convection hob but we mastered it. The fire is amazing and the log wood stock infinite. Really spacious for a large family - there were only four of us but would have easily fitted double that. Highly recommended.

Luxurious, Comfortable and Cosy with Great Views

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Chalet Champetre for a long w/e and wish we could have stayed longer.

Everything is as described; the Chalet is beautiful, very spacious, well equipped, cosy and comfortable. It was clean and is well maintained; the finishings, detail and furnishings are 5*.

The TV, HiFi equipment and WiFi worked perfectly and there is a great choice of DVD's and books if you just want to sit in the front of the fire for a relaxing evening.

It is in a picturesque location with great views and within walking distance of the village where there are restaurants and a supermarket. With tips from Mary who is extremely helpful we went on some great walks with spectacular views.

This is undoubtedly one of the loveliest Chalets we have stayed in and we hope to make a return visit in 2015 as we enjoyed our stay so much. Would definitely recommend if visiting Les Allues.

wonderful vacation in a beautiful chalet

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation at Chalet Champetre in Les Allues. We were two couples, and the Chalet came up to all our expectations, and much more!! It is not only comfortable and perfectly equipped, but also beautifully decorated, with lots of attention to every detail. We tried very hard, but could not find anything missing... Mary, the owner, was very kind and helpful, her tips were excellent. The surroundings are breathtaking, lots of places to visit and enjoy. We definitely recommend this Chalet, and hope to stay there again.

Very well-equipped comfortable chalet- great views

  • 5 of 5

We were very well looked after by the owner from the first enquiry to after our return; all relevant information and useful tips were provided without prompting; all questions were answered quickly and willingly; nothing was too much trouble. The listing and all other descriptions were accurate.

The chalet is in very good condition and extremely well-equipped - probably the best we have ever found in self-catering accommodation. The furnishings, china and glass are of a very high standard. The feel is very comfortable, spoiling and cosy without being 'over-the-top'.

The chalet is situated away from the hectic and sometimes noisy centre of Meribel which is however easily accessed by the free shuttle bus. Meribel-les-Allues has a more 'real' feel to it; the views from the chalet are stunning.

I would definitely recommend this chalet t friends, and return here if looking for the same sort of holiday again.

Great family chalet for skiing week

  • 5 of 5

The chalet was exactly as described - a luxury apartment suitable for 6 adults and a baby on a skiing week. The property was clean and well-maintained and the owner, Mary, was very prompt and responsive in administration, and very helpful in sending additional information about skiing, restaurants, travel from Geneva and the supermarket to use in Moutiers just before you start climbing.

In the living area there was a large lounge around a wood-fire, a well-equipped kitchen and dining area with large solid table. The sleeping area comprised 3 double/twin bedrooms, one en-suite and a large family bathroom with washing machine. Another separate WC. All to a high standard. It must be pretty well-built because the baby crying in the night wasn't at all disruptive. Free wi-fi, TV, music player, DVD, lockable ski-locker and parking on the drive. Good view over the valley to mountains.

The four skiers choose to drive in one car from the chalet to either Meribel Village or to the gondola in the village (which goes into Meribel Chaudanne). Free available parking at both. We didn't use the free ski-bus (the non-skiers did in the day) but it runs to the timetable with frequent runs to Meribel at the beginning and end of the day. If you are going to use the ski-bus you should consider strongly using Mary's recommended ski-hire company with her special arrangement to allow you to store your ski equipment at the rental shop in Meribel overnight. This will allow you to walk unencumbered to/from the skibus in sensible shoes.

The roads up to the chalet were generally snow free and the snow-plough and gritters were out early when it did snow. We had fortunately been upgraded to a 4x4 car and could imagine other weeks there with heavy snowfall when we would have been very grateful to have the extra traction. You certainly need snow-chains in a two-wheel drive.

Les Allues remains delightfully French (except Tsaretta bar which seems entirely English) with several renowned restaurants (Chaumiere was excellent). But there are cheaper good places such as En'k and Tsaretta to eat in or take away. Most don't start serving food until 19.00.The local supermarket opens early.

We loved it and would recommend the place.

Un chalet aux prestations haut de gamme

  • 5 of 5
