Nice apartment, fantastic hosts!

Myself and a friend stayed here for four days in late October, and our hosts couldn't have been more gracious! Upon arrival they gave us a map of the area around the property with restaurants, markets and coffee shops labeled, and they were more than willing to help us any time we had questions that we had about the area. The apartment is conveniently located within walking distance of a large market, which makes it very easy to take advantage of the kitchen in the property. It takes about 40 minutes to walk to the train station from the apartment, but it is a very direct route and a lovely walk through the town. Reggio Emilia is a great central place to stay if you are interested in exploring Modena, Parma and Bologna - all these towns are easily accessible by train.

We stayed at La casa del barone for 6 nights during August 2009. We got the largest apartment of the available 3. We were two adults and two kids (12 and 16). The apartment is new, spacious, very clean, and very well maintaned. Its equiped with a large kitched with all cooking staff including a big oven. The apartment also includes a large bathroom and two bedrooms. The apartment is air-conditioned, and is equiped aith a washing machine. The place has a private closed parking place. Its located in a very quiet street and has many stores and shopping centers near-by.

The owner, Roberto was very kind and helpful and assisted us in any issue, big and small. We even got a parking ticket by mistake, and he went with us to the local police to cancel it!!

If you are looking for a good and not expensive place in the center of northeren Italy, this is a very good choice. Modena and Parma are very close and we also drived to Lago di garda and Venice from here. If you are looking for restaurants, you will find them in the historic center of Reggio Emilia - a 5 minutes drive.

We were six people, four adults, one teenager and one six year old. The apartment was comfortable and clean located in a working class nieghborhood....safe and gated. The owners are on the property and very friendly and helpful. We had our own transportation and used the apartment as home base as we visited Parma, Bolgana, Modena,Ferrera and Montova. The market was near by and we prepared most of our meals in the well equipped kitchen. Washing machine in the bathroom that was of a good size. I would recommend la casa del barone.
