The municipality of Haría extends over the north of Lanzarote, and it is here that the highest mountains above sea level are to be found, where Finca La Crucita is situated. Away from touristic development, Haría reveals itself as an oasis amongst the general tone of aridity which is so characteristic of the rest of the island. For this reason it is known for its Valley of Ten Thousand Palm Trees, of which many are over a hundred years old. There is a Saturday morning Craft market which is well worth a visit. The nearest beach is situated in the village of Arrieta just 5 km away. It has golden sands and is sheltered from the prevailing wind and waves. It has numerous facilities: changing rooms and toilets, a breakwater, restaurants right next to the beach and a Red Cross station. There are also magnificent beaches on the road to Orzola. Nearby attractions are Volcanic Caves, Cactus Gardens, the views overlooking Graciosa the neighbouring island.
