Central District Apartment Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, Private Apartment, Convenient to Downtown Seattle

Welcome to the Seattle Turret House, a Landmark Victorian in Seattle's charming and historic Capitol Hill district. We are ideally located on a quiet residential street, just a short walk to excellent grocery stores, busy cafes and world class restaurants. Capitol Hill is Seattle's most vibrant neighborhood, with beautiful original homes, historic architecture, lovely city parks and a vibrant, busy commercial shopping district.

Super convenient location for most major tourist attractions, with easy access to Downtown, Pike Place Market, Seattle Center, Seattle University, First Hill, Ferry Terminals, University of Washington Campus and much much more. Easy access to downtown by foot (20-30 mins) or public transportation (10 minutes).

Apartment 3 is the building’s elegant main floor apartment, occupying the entire first floor (1100 sq ft) and featuring a unique turreted living room/dining room, 10 ft ceilings, abundant natural light (14 windows!), original hardwood floors, spacious fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor garden deck with table and chairs. Very unique, roomy and comfortable.

There is a large master bedroom, which can be adjoined to the living room by opening 2 huge original pocket doors, plus a 2nd bedroom--both equipped with queen size beds, down pillows, comforters and quality linens. Modern bathroom with tiled wainscoting and large walk-in shower. Modern eat-in kitchen with gas range, dishwasher, microwave and all expected amenities. Washer/dryer in unit. Off street parking available.

See also VRBO listing #301794 (Apt 4), a “San Francisco” style 2BR flat, and VRBO #319191 (Apt 5), the building's stylish 2 BR Penthouse Flat. All three apartments can be adjoined through a central staircase to accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 private rooms, each with queen size bed.

About William

Hello, I'm William, I've lived on Capitol Hill since 1990 and still it's my favorite Seattle neighborhood! I'm happy to help you find your way around the city or direct you to some of my favorite sites and restaurants. . .

I speak English and French.

William purchased this apartment in 1995

Why William chose Central District

Capitol Hill is a gorgeous historic neighborhood, with beautiful homes and gardens, and super convenient to all the things I love about Seattle! It's quiet and peaceful yet everything you need is close and easy to get to . . . if you like to walk and see the real character and street life of a city this is a perfect place to stay. The building itself is very charming, with unique architectural details and character, the apartments are comfortable and a quiet retreat for relaxing at the end of your day . . . overall a great base for exploring the city of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest!

What makes this apartment unique

Ideal location in a great walkable neighborhood, close to excellent food markets (e.g., Trader Joe's, Madison Market Co-op), a great variety of restaurants, coffee shops, taverns & nightclubs, all surrounded by historic mansions, lovely gardens and unusual architecture. From here it's easy to get to most of the major tourist attractions (Pike Place Market, Space Needle, Houseboats, ferries, etc). Be sure to visit Volunteer Park, the Olmstead-designed crown jewel of Seattle Park System and home of the Seattle Asian Art Museum, a lovely Plant Conservatory, and at that top of the water tower the most amazing 180 degree view in the city!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We only wish we could have spent more time in the apartment! From the moment we walked in, everything was at our fingertips, every room was clean and comfortable. Location is great--away from all the commotion but still convenient to get all places. Will definitely recommend to friends & family! Thank you!

Truth in Advertising

As a first-time renter with VRBO and a first-time visitor to Seattle, I was concerned about my choice of lodging. It's easy to make things look good in photos and on the web. However, in the case of the Seattle Turret House the pictures and descriptions are accurate. The apartment was immaculate upon our arrival and stocked with everything we needed. The location was excellent and we found stores within walking distance. Because there were two couples staying in the apartment, the cost was very attractive, as compared to a hotel in the same area. The only negative was the very small bathroom, but we worked around it and had a great time. We'll stay here again on our next trip.

Primo place to stay in Capital Hill

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful long holiday weekend trip to Seattle for us first-timers. Turret House was our perfect choice. It was clean, comfortable, convenient, generous sundries, great mattresses, soft pillows; loved the green blanket! We found LYFT to get around easily. Our neighbors were quiet. We loved it and long to be back for a longer visit.

Incredible House in Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

We (two professionals and an almost-3 year old) can't recommend this place highly enough.

First let me set the scene. This place is close enough to walk downtown in a matter of minutes. But it's in this treesy quiet neighborhood with gorgeous mansions. Add to all of that the proximity to Trader Joe's, Madison Market (lovely granola-y co-op), and all the bars and restaurants you can imagine - within blocks. Elliott Bay Books is a matter of blocks. If you have friends north of the city or south, you're equidistant. I truly cannot imagine a better location for a vacation or a staycation.

But somehow even better than the incredible neighborhood is the immaculate and thoughtfully-prepared flat itself. It is stocked with a bounty of clean white towels, all the paper products you need, even new tupperware. The washer and drier are new, the furniture all seems new, the bathroom is out of some Pinterest post. There are gorgeous, high ceilings, calming paint colors, down duvets and pillows, plenty of drawers for unloading your things, giant windows, warm fir floors, and even little touches I found especially sweet, like a hamper for dirty clothes and an umbrella to borrow. We were traveling with a toddler and felt comfortable -- hardly anything breakable down low.

We stayed in this flat for a week while our house was on the market, so I wouldn't have to keep our house clean with a toddler while showing it. Our son called it "the castle." I will be recommending it to all friends and family coming to visit Seattle.

Great apartment, lots of space

I stayed here with 3 other people and we had a great time. The apartment has a lot of space. New appliances, updated shower and bathroom. I would stay here again.

Beautiful Home in Outstanding Location!

  • 5 of 5

I recently stayed in William's lovely home located a short distance from the vibrant campus of Seattle University and the amazing restaurants and shopping of Capitol Hill. The home is situated on a quiet street allowing the convenience of proximity to all the excitement of the City without the noise and congestion. There are three Starbucks within walking distance as well as a number of alternative coffee houses. I wanted to stay somewhere that felt more like "home" than a hotel -- William's place was perfect and provided me with just the respite I required. Plus, the location was perfect for me to easily access all my appointments on "Pill Hill" and also reconnect with my Seattle pals. The home is nicely appointed with a full size kitchen and amenities which help to make your stay warm, inviting, and comforting.

Quiet and convenient neighborhood, short walk to a great variety of shops, cafes & restaurants. Trader Joe's Grocery is 2 blocks away, as well as a great natural foods market, Central Co-op. One block to city bus line, 20 minute walk to downtown Seattle. Centrally located and very easy to get around without a vehicle.
