Photos and Description of the Seattle vacation apartment rental
2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, Private Apartment

Welcome to the Seattle Turret House, a Landmark Victorian in Seattle's charming Capitol Hill district--a short walk to wonderful grocery stores, popular cafes and world class restaurants. Capitol Hill is Seattle's most vibrant neighborhood, with beautiful homes, historic architecture, gorgeous parks and an active street life.

This is a very convenient location in a quiet residential area, with easy access to Downtown, Pike Place Market, Seattle University, First Hill, Waterfront, Ferry & Cruise Ship Terminals, University of Washington, public transportation and major tourist attractions.

Apartment 3 is the building's grand main apartment, occupying the entire first floor (1100sf) and featuring a unique turreted living room/dining room, tall 10 ft ceilings, abundant natural light (14 windows!), original millwork and hardwood floors, and a lovely garden deck to enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon glass of wine. This is a truly one of a kind home, definitely not your average cookie cutter apartment!

There is a master bedroom, which can be adjoined to the living room by opening 2 huge original pocket doors, plus a 2nd bedroom--both with queen size beds, down pillows, comforters and quality linens. Modern bathroom with tiled wainscoting and walk-in shower. Modern eat-in kitchen with gas range, dishwasher, microwave and all expected amenities. Washer/dryer conveniently located in unit. Off street parking available.

See also my VRBO listing #301794, Apt 4, another large 2 bedroom flat in the same building, as well as VRBO listing #319191, Apt 5, the building's fabulous 2BR penthouse apartment! All three apartments can be adjoined through a central staircase to accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 private rooms each with queen size beds.

About William

Hello, I'm William, I've lived on Capitol Hill since 1990 and still it's my favorite Seattle neighborhood! I'm happy to help you find your way around the city or direct you to some of my favorite sites and restaurants. . .

I speak English and French.

The Seattle Turret House is located at 932 16th Avenue Seattle WA 98122, corner of 16th Ave & Spring St.

William purchased this apartment in 1995
Why William chose Seattle

Capitol Hill is a gorgeous historic neighborhood, with beautiful homes and lush gardens, and super convenient to all the things I love about Seattle! It's quiet and very peaceful yet everything you need is close and easy to get to . . . if you like to walk and see the real character and street life of a city this is a perfect place to stay. The building itself is very charming, with unique architectural details and character, the apartments are comfortable and a quiet retreat for relaxing at the end of your day . . . overall a great base for exploring the city of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest!

What makes this apartment unique

his is an ideal location in a great walkable neighborhood, residential and quiet yet close to excellent food markets (e.g., Trader Joe's, Madison Market Co-op), a great variety of one of a kind restaurants, coffee shops, taverns & nightclubs, all surrounded by historic mansions, lovely gardens and unusual architecture. From here it's easy to get to most of the major tourist attractions (Pike Place Market, Space Needle, Houseboats, ferries, etc). Be sure to visit Volunteer Park, the Olmstead-designed crown jewel of Seattle Park System and home of the Seattle Asian Art Museum, a lovely Plant Conservatory, and at that top of the water tower the most amazing 180 degree view in the city!

Very nice and well maintained

Submitted: April 25, 2013 Stayed: April 2013
The space is very nice and usable. A lot of remodeling work has been done providing a nice bath and kitchen. The main living room is in the turret and has wonderful windows providing good lighting (Seattle weather permitting). It has an electronic door lock which had worried me but it turned out to be great and wildly convenient

There are some small finishing touches that could be done (towel rack in bathroom, soap holder in shower, etc) but none that provided any major difficulty.

We'll likely stay there again on a return visit..

We Could Not Have Picked a Better Place to Stay!

Submitted: January 16, 2013 Stayed: October 2012
We only wish we could have spent more time in the apartment! From the moment we walked in, everything was at our fingertips, every room was clean and comfortable. Location is great--away from all the commotion but still convenient to get all places. Will definitely recommend to friends & family! Thank you!

Made Seattle feel like home!

We loved our vacation at the Seattle Turret House! This apartment is very spacious and beautifully furnished, with tall ceilings and huge windows and lots of natural light. The kitchen is super clean and well equipped. We really appreciated that everything was immaculate and so well maintained. The neighborhood is really lovely--quiet and residential, but close to lots of shopping and great restaurants, so we walked everywhere, including downtown and Pike Place Market. We loved having Trader Joe’s so close by. We only wished we could have stayed longer! Thanks, William, we will be back!

Terrific Stay!

Turrett House is lovely. We stayed with our two adult daughters for 3 nights and felt quite at home and comfortable. We were able to hike, visit the market, shop, eat at fine restaurants, and sight see without getting in our car. We definitely hope to be back! Thanks for a great stay!

Joy

Submitted: August 31, 2012 Stayed: August 2012
We were absolutely thrilled with Turret House! It was all we hoped it would be from the description, very comfortable, clean and practical. It is very conveniently situated, we walked a lot and saw a very varied view of the city, from downtown to excellent supermarkets in easy walking distance, nearby public transport, inexpensive taxis, cafe/restaurants, harbour area with ferries to Vancouver,Pike Place Market, Capitol Hill, wonderful parks and rural areas, beach etc and William was very helpful, a really lovely, interesting man. we can't speak highly enough of the whole experience.
We would definitely stay there again if we find ourselves back in Seattle.
