Ireland you did it for us!

  • 5 of 5
After seeing Tom's house and falling in love with everything we saw and read from previous guests, we couldn't wait to stay here. We really weren't disappointed either. Tom made us feel very welcome before and after, keeping in touch and offering to help with any holiday requirements.... thank you! It's a lovely new spacious house with everything you need to make your stay a comfortable one. There were clean towels and bedding and milk in the fridge on arrival, always good for when you're in desperate need of a cuppa! The house is about 15 minutes to Clifden for shops, Aldi and Supervalu, pubs, restaurants and more. A lovely butcher and cafe on the High Street.
For us though it was all about the spectacular views, firstly from the house..the ever changing colours on the mountains never failed to amaze us. We walked up Diamond Hill, it was busy, took us two hours but well worth it. We visited Kylemore Abbey...again, worth the trip. We went to Inishbofin from Cleggan on the ferry...you can walk around the Island, there's not much there but worth the visit if you like walking as there's a beautiful beach. A drive to Claddaghduff to walk across to Omey Island, again nothing really there but stunning views. Dogs Bay is another gorgeous beach, great for rockpooling. Our favourite walk was up Cleggan Hill, you can park at the Farmhouse rental cottages and walk up, there isn't much of a path but makes it fun trekking up! The 360 degree panoramic view from the top is BREATHTAKING. There's a lovely little cove over the other side of the hill that is worth a walk to, If it had have been warmer we would have swam there. All in all we had a wonderful time and was made all the better by going back each evening to a lovely house.

Relaxing, comfortable.

  • 5 of 5
We spent 2 weeks at Tom's home and thoroughly enjoyed it. The home is lovely and comfortable and the scenery was beautiful. We even got to see a triple rainbow out the front over the lake one day. We have absolutely no complaints and would stay there again without hesitation.

Lovely home in Moyard

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I stayed at this wonderful home for two weeks. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Mary, the caretaker of this property. She was lovely to deal with, showing us how to operate everything and even giving us information on places to visit in the area. The house is everything the website shows it to be. The décor is very pleasing to the eye, with artwork hanging throughout. The living room has a fireplace which we used our first night there. Very romantic setting. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking meals in. My husband and I had our breakfast at the house each day, looking out at the lake and listening to the sheep bleating in the meadow across the way. There is a walk-in shower off the master bedroom. Two of the bedrooms are equipped with great built in closets, including shelves. Makes it easier to select clothing for your next Irish adventure! In the back of the house, up a set of stairs, is a seating area with picnic table. The views from up there are magnificent. You can see the 12 Bens Mountain Range. If you are looking for peace, quiet and relaxation this is the house for you. It is only a 15 minute drive to the town of Clifden. Clifden has everything you need to fill the refrigerator for your stay, as well as convenient ATMs, gasoline and great pubs. Visit Lowry's Pub on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. for live traditional Irish music. You won't be disappointed. Mitchell's Restaurant was excellent. In the other direction from the house is Kylemore Abbey and Connemara National Park. Both worth visiting. We also took a ferry from Cleggan to Innisbofin Island. Don't miss out on these sights. Tom designed a very nice home away from home. He will answer any questions that you may have about the property and the area. He is a very accommodating owner. We are glad that we selected this home for our vacation. We had a lovely stay. Thanks again, Tom!

Very beautiful and peaceful

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I stayed in this house for 2 weeks. It offered everything that we needed. The kitchen was well stocked with all cooking tools needed to dine-in. We loved having breakfast in the kitchen each morning while listening to the sheep bleating in the meadow across the way, and of course daydreaming at the pretty lake across the road. In the back of the house, up a set of stairs, is a picnic area with fantastic views of the 12 Bens Mountain Range. Breathtaking is the only word to describe it. Nature at its best. We loved the fireplace in the living room which we were able to light our first night there. Cozy and romantic. The master bedroom has fantastic built in closets and the master bath has a walk in shower! Very clean property. Very nice artwork hangs throughout the house. This home is conveniently located only 15 minutes from the town of Clifden. Clifden has a lot to offer. Visit Lowry's Pub for live traditional Irish music. It is the best. Lots of restaurants in Clifden, grocery stores and general shopping. We stopped in Clifden on our way to checking in to purchase some provisions for our stay. I would suggest doing this, especially if you have travelled a far distance. Then once you check in, you can relax, eat, and plan out the next day. In the other direction only 15 minutes from the house is Kylemore Abbey and Connemara National Park. Both worth a visit. All in all, this house is in a perfect location for many wonderful sites in the west of Ireland. Great home to return to at the end of a busy sightseeing day where you can wind down within the peace and quiet that surrounds you. We truly enjoyed our stay and miss it greatly. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it most highly.

Superb House with Amazing Views

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at this house for a week ( 4 adults and 2 children aged 6 & 10). The views from the house were amazing, overlooking the lake with beautiful scenery all around. The accommodation was very roomy and had everything that we could possibly wish for - a large family kitchen, cosy lounge, bright conservatory and plenty of outdoor space for the kids to run about. The raised seating area at the back of the house was a bonus - great for passing time and watching the sheep graze. The house was located within easy reach of various tourist attractions. Whilst staying there, we visited the Connemara National Park, went Pony Trekking on the Connemara Ponies, visited Kylemore Abbey and the local town of Clifden. Tom and his sister Pat were very welcoming and were happy to help with any questions which we had about the house or the local area. We are planning to visit Ireland again next year and would definitely re-book here.

Jolie contemporaine aux portes du Connemara

  • 5 of 5
In english :
A home where you feel like home. Very clean and pleasant. The kitchen is very spacious and when the sun heats you can take your tea on the patio table outside or even lunch on a large table set up on a raised terrace near a field of sheep and facing a lake.
Its location is an excellent starting point to discover the region. 10mn from the entrance of Connemara, 15 minutes from Kylemore Abbey, 15 minutes from departure to the island of Inishbovin, 1 hour from Galway, 1 hour from the charming town of Cong ... and 10mn most of Cliften and there you will find all amenities. (several grocery stores, clothing, decoration, many restaurants, pubs and a tourist office and a post office)
We really had a great week. I recommend this house if you want traditional Irish holiday.

Moyard is a rural town-land situated 5 miles from Clifden, the capital of Connemara, and 3 miles from Letterfrack village and Connemara National Park and 5 miles from Kylemore Abbey on the N59. Many visitors find Moyard a central point from which to tour and enjoy Connemara. Moyard is also 5 miles from Cleggan village and the gateway to Inishbofin Island. The scenery in North West Connemara is a breathtaking and ever-changing landscape of majestic mountains, spectacular beaches, prehistoric bogs and mist covered lakes. Moyard is at the heart of this scenery and within these acres of scenery there is a choice of activities, places to visits, shops, modern conveniences, restaurants and lively pubs. Sandy beaches, mountains, walks, horse riding. Our house overlooks a lake and is situated on a quiet road with stunning views over Garrenbaun lake and still not far away from all the amenities.

Golf: Connemara Golf course is under a half hour drive from the house and it is a 26 hole links course situation beside beautiful white beaches perfect for walking. The club house with restaurant/bar on the top floor is the perfect place to meet up after a round of golf.
