Superb House with Amazing Views

5 of 5
Submitted: April 25, 2013 Stayed: April 2013
We stayed at this house for a week ( 4 adults and 2 children aged 6 & 10). The views from the house were amazing, overlooking the lake with beautiful scenery all around. The accommodation was very roomy and had everything that we could possibly wish for - a large family kitchen, cosy lounge, bright conservatory and plenty of outdoor space for the kids to run about. The raised seating area at the back of the house was a bonus - great for passing time and watching the sheep graze. The house was located within easy reach of various tourist attractions. Whilst staying there, we visited the Connemara National Park, went Pony Trekking on the Connemara Ponies, visited Kylemore Abbey and the local town of Clifden. Tom and his sister Pat were very welcoming and were happy to help with any questions which we had about the house or the local area. We are planning to visit Ireland again next year and would definitely re-book here.

In english :
A home where you feel like home. Very clean and pleasant. The kitchen is very spacious and when the sun heats you can take your tea on the patio table outside or even lunch on a large table set up on a raised terrace near a field of sheep and facing a lake.
Its location is an excellent starting point to discover the region. 10mn from the entrance of Connemara, 15 minutes from Kylemore Abbey, 15 minutes from departure to the island of Inishbovin, 1 hour from Galway, 1 hour from the charming town of Cong ... and 10mn most of Cliften and there you will find all amenities. (several grocery stores, clothing, decoration, many restaurants, pubs and a tourist office and a post office)
We really had a great week. I recommend this house if you want traditional Irish holiday.

We stayed two weeks in Tom's house and we highly recommend it! The place is big enough for six and the house is lovely with a very big kitchen and a ensuite room. The surroundings are wonderful as well and very suitable for hiking in the mountains or on one of the beaches. So, if you are looking for a place to stay in Connemara, Tom's house should definitely be on your shortlist
