AMAZING!

My husband and I have been to Isla 4 times. The first 3 we stayed in a villa at Avalon Reef – which was very nice. This time we ventured out and found Dave and Katy’s Villa at Quinta Ixchel. It is amazing!! Our main reason for going to Isla is to escape from the rest of the world…from jobs, traffic, TV, phones, family drama, …just daily living. The villa felt like home to us. It was such a peaceful, private, serene experience. My favorite thing is to get up early and walk the beach. And this was the perfect beach for that. The only drawback for us – and it wouldn’t be a drawback for most people – is that you don’t see the sunrise. But there are AMAZING sunsets. We usually go to Playa Norte to watch the sunset, but as soon as we realized they were much better at the Villa, that’s where we stayed to watch them.
One of the other reviews mentioned the boats that bring day trippers next door. They did arrive a couple of times a day for a few hours, but they were not a problem. We knew they were there, but they weren’t loud or bothersome. We took that time to cool off in the pool where we wouldn’t even notice them.
The Villa looks exactly as the pictures portray it – BEAUTIFUL!! Everything we needed was there. We meant to spend more time cooking for ourselves and eating on the patio overlooking the ocean - which would have been amazing – but we also love visiting all the wonderful restaurants. We rented a golf cart for the week because we like coming and going and exploring the neighborhoods, but you could get by with a taxi or walking.
We don’t have a single complaint about the Villa or Katy and Dave. It was a fabulous vacation and we hope to stay there again in the near future!
