  • The prices quoted above, are for standard duchess or mountain suites, sleeping 1 or 2 persons. Superior poolside, Queen, Duke or Cottage Suites sleeping 2 in bedroom and additional 1/ 2 persons on sleeper couch in lounge cost from R490-R810/night/suite.
    Deluxe King, Fountain and Royal Suites sleeping 2 in bedroom and additional 1/2 on sleeper couch/double bunk or single beds in lounge from R690-R880/night/suite.
    Luxury 2 bed, 2 bathroom sleeping 2-5 persons; from R900-R1300/night/suite.
    2 or 3 bed house 2 bathroom sleeping 3-8 persons from R800-R1500/night/house.

Great place to stay just outside of Cape Town

We were looking for a place south of Cape Town for our base for touring around the Peninsula for a beginning of our African experience and we picked the Ascot Gardens. We stayed 2 nights and we loved it. It's 2 min from shopping centre, 20 minutes driving for city centre (30 min rush hours), Muizenberg Beach, Constantia and have a good road connection towards other spots like Chapman's Peak Drive, Simon's Town, Cape Point.

The place itself save, quite and you can park the car behind the gate. There few restaurants nearby too. Apartments are clean and well equipped; nice bathroom, full kitchen (so you can save few quid by buying a roasted chicken or ready made meals in a shop), overall great value for money.

In the previous reviews I came across some negative comments regardless additional payment required for central heating -for us despite it was early spring with max temp in late teens and chilly morning and nights but we were not cold without central heating. We used hot water bottles to warm up bed before go to sleep and we were fine till morning.

Barry is very helpful.

We should come a day or 2 earlier and stay longer there longer.
Owner's Response: Visitors to Cape Town requiring an affordable good central accommodation base for experiencing all that Cape Town and its surrounding areas offers, will be hard pressed to find better accommodation than ASCOT GARDENS SELF CATERING in the Constantia Valley .

The tourist brochures provided in the library , free wifi and fixed internet ,knowledgeable and helpful hosts, dining out cheaply in local restaurants ,and neighborhood shopping with the locals , ensures that ASCOT GARDENS SELF CATERING is the place to stay when visiting Cape Town.

I am in love with the Constantia Valley and wanted to really experience the quaintness of this really majestic location. Ascot Gardens made it that much more special. If you like the homely, quaint farm feel in the heart of the beautiful Southern Suburbs then you will love this place. And dont forget the mountains…

We were due to arrive at 18:30 but ended up being late due to car rental issues and was still greeted with warmth and friendliness.

I love exploring and this was the perfect location with quick access to pretty much anywhere in Cape Town. We managed to zip here there and everywhere in 3 days and see a lot of different things.

Thank you to Ascot Gardens for making it such a stress-free, hospitable visit – even though it was short we were still treated like patrons who came to spend 2 weeks.

The accommodation is located a short walk to a mall containing two super markets and bistros.We also ate across the square ,excellent food and service. We realy loved our stay, the aroma of the gardens when you open the windows was breathtaking. The location of the gardens allowed for visiting THE CAPE, wineries, tabletop mountain, and of course CAPE TOWN. All sites were close and accessible. My son in law is a golf pro here in the states and he wanted me to take a look and my report is outstanding golf is available. In my opinion this place is 5 star. Owner's Response: I am pleased Rob and Roxanne enjoyed their short stay. They certainly visited all the tourist spots which are all situated within 30 minutes drive from Ascot gardens. Yes ,the Cape Town area has 17good golf courses , all open and welcoming to visitors who can book a T Time , subject to availability.

We are family party of 13 and stayed in the Cottage, King, Fountain and Poolside apartments in January 2012. We were well received by Barry, who was very accommodating and helpful on arrival. The whole complex was, and felt, very secure and the general area was quite safe to walk around. The apartments were all very clean and well appointed with large airy rooms and the gardens and other areas were extremely well stocked and well looked after. The Pool was central to all our apartments and easily accessible and we all loved it especially the grandchildren who were at times a little too noisy for some. (Sorry) On the last day we were afforded some extra time for departure, which was very useful with 4 grandchildren but perhaps the planned departure time (for our party at least) was a little early at 10.00 am.

There were quite a few good restaurants in the local area and we were given discount tickets for a number of these, courtesy of Barry. There is so much to do in Cape Town that I don't have time to list it all and most attractions are within easy reach with a shortish drive. There is a mass of tourist information on site at Ascot Gardens and the wireless broadband is an added bonus. All in all it was a fantastic holiday and we would be very happy to return at some stage in the future.
Owner's Response: Chris and his family with their children used the ASCOT GARDENS SELF CATERING SUITES as their Cape Town base for attending to a nieces wedding in our area over the xmas /new year period.They enjoyed the privacy of their own units but also being close by to each others family.They were out exploring Cape Town most days and found ASCOT GARDENS positioning perfectly situated for this purpose.It was a pleasure to host them and pleasing that they really enjoyed their stay and holiday in and around Cape Town.

ASCOT GARDENS WELL POSITIONED AND GOOD VALUE

Over the latter part of 2011 my wife and I have used Ascot Gardens as a Cape Town base on a number of occasions for stays of 4 nights at a time. We have occupied a number of the units and they are always well prepared and spotlessly clean on our arrival. We find them well equipped for self catering and the beds comfortable. The gardens are lush and very well cared for. The secure off-street parking is on the site and convenient. Bookings are efficiently arranged by Barry and he has gone out of his way to accommodate us. Restaurants and convenience shopping are close by. We are pleased to have all of this at a very reasonable price.
