Yes I did make a mistake I later found out what I did wrong. I was willing to work with the party but they were unwilling. The pond is fill with Irrigation water rights.Which run from mid april till mid oct depenting on the snow pack. This time of year the pond is at it lowest. But it dose bring alot of water fowl, that you don,t see later in the year. Yes the picture were taken in the summer when everything looks its best. Most people realy enjoy this special place and come back year after year. We been renting this cabin since 1995. Thank you for the review it keeps us on our toes the Jeffers
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful cabin. It is simple and rustic (which is exactly what we were looking for), but also extremely cozy and comfortable. The setting is quiet and peaceful, and it's the perfect place to kick back and relax. The weather was a bit chilly this time of year to take advantage of kayaking or swimming, but the pond made for some amazing photographs with the mountains reflecting on its surface - especially at sunrise and sunset. We are looking forward to coming back for a longer stay. Thank you to the Jeffers for sharing their delightful retreat!
I cannot say enough about the hosts or the wonderful property their cabin is on! The cabin was perfect sized for our 4 person family & our dogs. The bed was super comfortable, the cabin was clean & homey & it was supplied with just about anything a person would need. The bbq is a nice touch! & there was a fan in the bedroom which came in handy on a warm night! Everything was in good condition & working order - another reviewer mentioned a tattered fry pan & it clearly has been replaced with a new one. It felt just like staying at my grandma's house when I was a kid! The hosts have a wonderful labrador who was such a sweet guy, he would come over & check on us periodically. We saw more of him than the hosts as they gave us more than enough space to ourselves.
The property itself is wonderful, the pond out back is perfect for kids to play in & the kayaks were super fun! The view was unforgettable! We took some of the best photographs we have in our entire lives; the mountains were amazing to look at! The sunsets were lovely & the stars were so bright!
I almost hate to give such a raving review in fear we will not be able to reserve this wonderful gem but the owners deserve it, this is a fantastic place to stay! & there are endless things to do out & around Sisters, Bend & Redmond, which are all nearby! We will be back!
One side note, there are 3 guestbooks in the cabin that have years & years of comments & thank you's, it was fun to read the warm thoughts that so many people before us left for the hosts.
My husband, 7-month-old baby, dog, and I loved our stay at the cabin. We cooked, went for walks around the cabin, played with the adorable yellow lab who greets you at every arrival, and spent many cozy nights reading and sipping tea. The cabin was very clean and obviously well-cared for, and as other reviewers mentioned, the views are stunning.
We will definitely be back!
This was definitely a bust. After driving several hours to this location, we arrived about 4:30 pm. Upon walking up to the cabin it was apparent someone else was already settled in. There was good news and bad news. The bad news was, that even though we had in our hands, confirmation of our intended stay, the owner had rented out the accommodations to someone else. The good news was that we did not have to stay, as the place was a dump compared to the pictures and written review on the internet site. The pond is not full, but just a mud puddle. The owner did offer to make some concession, however, after seeing the place we did not want to return. It is obvious that the owners have no business acumen or system. We would not recommend a stay at this location.
If you love rustic, peace and quite, and the best view's of the Mountains you have ever seen from your cabin you will love it here. It has everything you need and the owners are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, and their dog is the greatest soccer player I have ever seen. He would make a great goalie you can't get anything past him, and he really play's he uses his front feet.
There is a lot to do in Sisters and the surrounding areas. There are many shops and restaurants in Sisters and all easy to walk to. I would plan a day just to see all of Sisters so you don't miss anything.
We had the best time and plan to go again. I think it's a place you should go to at least once just to get up in the morning and see the view's because they are BREATHTAKING!!
We just got back from a long weekend at this Cabin. This cabin is 10 minutes from Sisters and the landscape has received some great Tender Loving Care. It was absolutely perfect for our 3 year old son, who loved playing on the dock, in the pond, and hiking around. The property owners are RIGHT next door, and they were great about giving us plenty of privacy. They also had an awesome Yellow Lab who we named, Big Boy. He had the same temperament as our own yellow lab, and they quickly became buddies. He was one of the reason that made us love this cabin. FYI don't leave your shoes on the front porch, or you will find them strewn about the lawn. :)
I do have to mention the pillows on the one queen bed were very uncomforable/hard. Also... the kitchen/eating amenities were either really sparse, or badly worn. We had to buy ourselves a cast iron skillet in town because the one larger fry pan was non-stick and completely tattered. Lastly, sometimes the wood stove would turn on... and sometimes it wouldn't. It seemed rather temperamental. All in all, we loved this adorable little cabin, but wish for some small improvements.
