Staying at our traditional Quinta:
We welcome all our guests and invite them to stay at our traditional 150 - 200 year old Quinta. The studio is at the far end of the property, has its own separate entrance and parking. The Studio is of bright and modern design and was renovated late 2008. The seated view point and garden terrace has been screened separately from the garden so that guests can enjoy their own privacy but are also welcome to share the garden as well. In our gardens, we have an assortment of fruit trees (Mango, Nespra, Peach, Guava, Banana, Avocado and Anonis) and encourage our guests to pick the fruits when in season.
We are situated above the village boasting fantastic views of the village and ocean, have our own village shop, bar and restaurant with an easy two minute walk. There are plenty of walks and levadas in the area, banana plantations and vineyards.
Things to do and places to see:
A car is recommended and will facilitate you to enjoy the stunning views of the areas surrounding Ponta do Sol.
In our area we have activities such as Paragliding, surfing, swimming, deep sea fishing, boat trips, whale and dolphin watching, mountain walks and levada walks and much more.
On Madeira we have a theme park, volcanic centre and caves, a science museum, aquarium, nature reserves, plenty of museums and historical places to visit.
Tradition and Culture:
One of the perks of our village and where we are situated is that although we have all the modern facilities and amenities on our doorstep we also have local culture too! As we are situated in a semi agricultural area, local life can be laid back but interesting too. Whilst you visit us you may see the locals harvesting the bananas and grapes and our ubundance of produce in the area. One can also sample many of the fruits and vegetables that you will not see in your supermarkets at home! The fish, meat and grocery vans make their rounds in our neighborhood where you can buy freshly caught/grown and local produce from outside your front door! At varying times of the year our village and those that surround it host many religious feasts and festivals which are fun and great opportunity to mingle with the locals and sample some of the cultural aspects of their celebrations as well as the gastronomy and different types of traditional drinks. There is so much to do and see from Ponta do So
