Planning a romantic getaway to Yosemite? Lucky you! With its stunning vistas and wild beauty, there are few other places that kindle romance quite like Yosemite.

Of course, you’ll want accommodations to match, and our two-person Serenity Suite offers what few places in Yosemite can—a luxury home that’s private and peaceful. It’s the perfect setting to create lasting memories together. Located at 5,500 feet, it provides an escape from high temperatures on the Valley floor in summer and proximity to fun at Badger Pass in the winter.

Located inside the park gate, in the Yosemite West neighborhood, Serenity Suite is approximately 30 minutes from popular attractions, including the Valley floor and its breathtaking waterfalls, Glacier Point, the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, and Wawona with its golf course. It sure beats driving over two hours from one of the gateway cities!

Serenity Suite is brand new. It was completed in January 2012, and you can feel the care that went into every detail, including high-end finishes such as handcrafted Shaker-style cabinets and top-notch kitchen appliances. Guests always rave about the quality and comfort of this beautiful home, from the very comfortably outfitted King bed to the large covered deck. We’ve equipped the home with marble countertops in the bathroom, granite countertops in the kitchen, and a soothing jetted tub. You’ll be tempted to spend your whole vacation lounging inside!

As you can see in our video tours and pictures, the living area and bedroom are connected. In fact, the whole suite boasts an open floor plan and extra high lofted ceilings that both make the space feel much bigger than it is. There are windows all around the main room, so you’ll enjoy plenty of light and incredible views of the woods while relaxing in front of a cozy fire. The dining area seats four, and the spacious kitchen comes fully equipped.

Outside you’ll find a huge covered deck with a barbecue. As from the inside of Serenity Suite, you’ll enjoy forested views all around you when relaxing outside with morning coffee or your evening refreshments. It’s nearly impossible to find this kind of private retreat elsewhere in Yosemite and still stay central to everything.

Serenity Suite is located below our other rental (Royal Retreat, VRBO 364619, for parties up to six people). All of your space is separate and private including your parking area, entrance and deck. The entrance to the suite is down an 18-step stairway which is extra wide to make it easy to get luggage in and out.

About The Owner

Please explore the map above. Our home is located inside the gates to Yosemite National Park. You can see the nearby Glacier Point road. It is only 8 miles to Badger Pass and about 12 miles to the Valley Floor. Many listings don't show a map and are often farther away than described. There is a big advantage to staying inside the gates. We are over 1/2 hour INSIDE the gates, so compare our location to locations 5-10 minutes outside the gates, plus waiting at the entry station. Closer to almost everything and no daily entry hassle.

Why The Owner chose Yosemite National Park

Jeff is a park ranger and Holly is an accountant. We lived in Yosemite for a combined 15 years and are now doing a tour of duty at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.

We are rock climbers and Yosemite is our favorite place in the world. We named Serenity Suite after our favorite rock climb, Serenity Crack, near the Ahwahnee hotel. The name turned out to be a perfect match for the feeling of staying in this home.

We helped design Serenity Suite with the builder to be a perfect retreat for ourselves, and now for you. Guests are sharing rave reviews with us and every detail has been carefully considered.

Yosemite West offers proximity to all the Yosemite attractions without all the crowds. It's peaceful, wooded, moderate temperature in summer and offers good access to fun in the snow in the winter.

A Romantic Getaway Destination!

Serenity Suite was truly a SERENE place to come back to after our full days of hiking in Yosemite. Even though you are driving a little ways from the valley, the scenery is beautiful and having the "Tunnel View" to welcome us each morning as we came in was a highlight for sure. Just make sure you get your gas before heading into the park!

Jeff and Holly are great hosts even though you never see them! Email correspondence before our trip was very efficient and friendly. Information provided to get you to the cabin was very thorough and helpful. (We especially appreciated grocery store and gas station recommendations.)

Once you arrive, the cabin is tastefully equipped with all the instructions you need, labels everywhere and framed signs with helpful information. The decor is simple and peaceful. The kitchen is updated and well-stocked. The fireplace was our favorite! This is a very romantic setting, a taste of luxury out in the woods and mountains. For our anniversary trip, it was the best choice. No campsites for us!

I definitely recommend Serenity Suite. I am sure their sister property, Royal Retreat, is great as well. We look forward to going back someday!

A perfect home base for a birthday trip to Yosemite!

My husband and I stayed at the Serenity Suite for three nights, and couldn't have been happier with our rental choice! This was my first trip to Yosemite, and the convenience of being in the park was ideal for maximizing our hiking/sightseeing time during our short stay. This property is well represented in the descriptions and photos. The exception, we thought, was that the space is actually LARGER in person that it seems in the photos/video. The ceilings are high and we were pleasantly surprised by the open floor space in the kitchen area as well. The outdoor grill, lovely fireplace, high-end bedding/linens, and very new, well-equipped were the big highlights for us in this comfortable, modern, and immaculate space. Holly was an invaluable resource for tips and info on everything in the park, and was extremely friendly, helpful, and timely in all our communications.

If pressed to find any small thing to note in the interest of a balanced review, I would mention that if you are extremely sensitive to quiet/privacy, the Serenity Suite is on the lower level of the larger, two-rental unit. The upper level unit is two bedrooms and set up for families. The hardwood floor stairs and tiled floor areas + children in the upper unit made for the occasional periods of loud overhead noise in our unit in the evening. This wasn't a big deal to us (we are city-dwellers/used to apartments), and certainly didn't take away from our experience, but worth noting for those looking for maximum quiet/seclusion.

My husband and I couldn't have been happier with the accomodations. We were there for our 22nd wedding anniversary and found the suite to be very cozy. The location is perfect for easy access to all Yosemite locations. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could possible need. We had a wonderful time.

Amazing start to my 40th!

We stayed here for my 40th bay and could not have been happier! The owners went out of their way to make it super special, including filling the suite with balloons, decorations, snacks and my favorite wines. The location is just perfect-easy access to all! The suite has everything you need to make you feel right at home. Holly gave us a ton of suggestions so we can maximize our time there. I would highly reccommend staying here. You will not be disappointed!
