Waterfront property in stunning and tranquil location. This house has a 5 star specification through out with 4 large bedrooms each with privacy of walk in wardrobes. It is set on 1 acre of mature lush gardens to the front and rear, there is a terraced aspect which affords spectacular views to the sea and islands. There are wonderful indoor and outdoor areas with exquisite views making it perfect for luxury vacations. The water front aspect is onto a shallow protected part of Glengarriff Harbour. This is superb for launching the kayaks which can be pulled from the front garden into the sea. The house is 3600 sq ft and has oak beams,oak floors, luxury fitted kitchen with granite island and worktops plus Aga cooker. There are seperate wood burning stoves in both the TV room and lounge. The upstairs bedroom has a balcony velux window. There is also extensive out door lighting with seperate patio and verandah court yard areas. Barbeque and kayaks supplied but not wet suits or lifejackets

The house is 1 km from the famous village of Glengarriff, which is 20 km west of Bantry, 30 km east of Castletownbere and about 20 km from Kenmare. Glengarriff itself is a wonderful village filled with good restaurants, craft shops and several traditional Irish pubs offering complimentary traditional entertainment at night. The entrance to Glengarriff Harbour is guarded by the world famous Garnish Island with its tropical gardens. There are boat trips to the island every twenty minutes during high season. The whole area is highly influenced by the effects of the gulf stream current which gives this area a sub tropical climate, indeed the house has both Bananna and Olive trees in the lush gardens. Another attraction 100 meters from the house is the Bamboo park, a botanical and horticultural paradise. Glengarriff is also home to the largest harbour seal population in Ireland, the seals can be viewed from the house or from the many nature walks within the village boundaries.

Notes: As well as all the above facilities we also have a 13 ft. trampoline, two (two man) kayaks and a large barbeque. Although there are wet suits in the house they are not for use by the guests who are requested to supply their own. The children's toy room is also fully stocked with toys for all ages and the book shelves are stocked with a large variety of books, videos and DVDs. The stereo system works with i-pod players only.

Eating out:: There are several restaurants in Glengarriff, they serve a wonderful selection of food from fine dinning in the Martello Room to casual food in the Hawthorn. All serve a superb selection of fresh fish cooked in various different styles. The Park Bistro is to be recommended. The world famous Kenmare is a gastronomic delight and is teeming with superb restaurants including the The Park Hotel, The Sheen Falls, The Lyme Tree and Darcy's Oyster Bar to name but a few. Bantry is also full of wonderful restaurant's such as the Fish Kitchen, O'Connors and the Sea Cloud.

Night Life:: Although a small village, we have eight pubs all of which have complimentary traditional entertainment at night. Crack agus Ceoil guaranteed.

Activities: There are a huge amount of activities to be enjoyed in the surrounding area including Kayaking, sailing, fishing (sea, shore and fresh water), Golf, Walking and Cycling to name but a few. There are three seperate nature reserves within 1 km of Glengarriff village, one of which has five spectacular walks to suit all abilities.

Golf: We have two golf couse's in the immediate area, Bantry Bay Golf Club which is open to visitors and is a Cristy O'Conner Jr. designed park land course with 14 of the 18 hole's having spectacular view's over Bantry Bay. The second course is Glengarriff which is a 9 hole park land course with spectacular view's over Glengarriff Harbour. The club president is the film star Maureen O'Hara who can often been seen in the club house or down in the village of Glengarriff. There are a further 3 course's with in about 20 km of Glengarriff.

A great house in a truly stunning location.Views over the bay are delightful in all weathers.The area has much to see and do , but the house , garden, bay and Kyaks kept us more than entertained.Glengarriff is a pleasant place to explore with many walks in and around the village.All six of us had wonderful time and are making plans to return , many thanks to Brendan .

Stunning property in superb location

The photographs of this property speak for themselves. They certainly give an accurate impression of what's in store on entering the property and admiring the surroundings. However, the extra touches made it particulaly special - a great selection of games, DVDs and videos for the odd rainy day - and particularly use of the two 2-man Kyaks. With life jackets provided, we had great fun with the kids racing round the harbour. Along with the trampoline, we didn't have any problem keeping them entertained when we wren't out exploring the scenic and gastronomic delights of the West Cork peninsulas.

A Holiday Home for Great Memories

This wonderful home enabled eight adults and our daughter (8 yrs old) to have a relaxing holiday in the Southwest of Ireland. Breakfast was an event every morning. I can still hear the laughter that filled the kitchen and w/ room for all of us. Then to walk out onto the patio and look out on Bantry Bay coffee in hand. The ages of our group ran from 8 to 55. Our nephews 21 & 25 (w/ fiance & girlfriend) had the time of their lives at the house. The house is ideally situated for trips to Dingle Peninsula, Ring of Kerry, Beara Peninsula, Mizen Head, Kenmare and The Lakes of Killarney. Stop in at Molly Gallivan's on the Kenmare Rd (N71) for tea and a wonderful view across the valley to the highest peak "Barra-Bui". After a full day out it was nice to come home to such a welcoming atmosphere. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable and private. There is plenty of room for all. We also made use of the house as a central location to leave our bags and explore further north and stay in B & B's for a night. You get a great rate when you stop in and have the flexibility to negotiate the price. There are some real gems out there. Our family stayed for 10 days and did not want to leave. Thank you for a letting us stay in your home and enabling us to have a wonderful holiday filled w/ memories that we will cherish.

This house is absolutely beautiful everyone in our group was stunned when we opened the doors to this spacious, immaculate and wonderful house will amazing views. This house really made our holiday we just wish we had put aside another week just to spend the time lazing around the place... really it is worth it!
The host is very friendly and was very helpful in showing us around and how everything worked.
I would definitly recommend this place to anyone going to stay in Cork.

Wonderful week in Glengariff

This is a wonderful property for a family holiday. The quality of the accommodation is first class yet it has a homely feel to it. With outstanding views across the bay with its amazing wildlife it is located less than 90 minutes from Cork airport and is ideal for seeing the beauty of west Cork and Kerry. We had a great week and we all wanted to stay on.
