We arrived for our second visit to this unbelievable island (We were married on the ridge of Pigeon Island 5 years ago) and could not be happier with “Windsong”. What an incredible place to stay, we really could not be any more fortunate to have this dreamy cottage for a week.
I don’t want to be repetitive and write about the same things previous writers listed about their vacations. But we had such a great time here and Windsong Cottage was perfect for us. We ate at many of the restaurants trying to pick places with a view of the water. However, our favorite was the Razmataza. Very authentic, spicy food, good portions and very reasonable prices.
We used the beaches at Le Sport on most days. The half day pass is a good deal if you drink, eat a lot of lunch, and utilize the non motorized sports (snorkel, Kayak etc.)
Romantic, Ideal for Honeymooners:
We also really enjoyed our hiking adventures on the North Eastern part of the island around the beaches of Donkey beach, secret beach, Cas en Bas, Anse Lavoutte. We don’t really like the tourist traps, so for us it was a great way to see beautiful spots with peace and quiet. I don’t think many people use the trails because we didn’t see a single person on the trails, beaches are practically empty as well.
We did have a 4WD car the entire week which made our vacation even more laid back. It was nice not being on any schedule for taxi rides. We often ran out to the grocery store -or- for dinner out in Rodney Bay and it was pretty carefree.
We really enjoyed the northern part of the island because it isn’t too touristy and/or crowded and you can park in Rodney Bay and walk around to an array of restaurant choices. Beaches are low key as well.
peaceful, relaxing, rejuvenating:
I’m writing this on the morning we are leaving. We were talking last night about having two more days, and it would be perfect. We lost two days because of travel and it’s not enough time here! It seems to take a couple of days to find yourself in relaxation mode.
Martin was also a great person, who took the time to take us down to the rock pool. He is the perfect host who makes himself available when needed, is very laid back. It was fun to have the company of the three dogs as well so we didn’t miss our dogs as much !
I am hoping we will stay at Windsong Cottage again the next time we return to St. Lucia!
