Sunsets and Kayaking on Mitchell Bay

What a lovely home in a magical setting! The deer that wandered through the yard, the numerous birds (including eagles) that flew overhead, and the adorable alpacas just down the road all contributed to the magic. The photos and descriptions of the property that we viewed ahead of time had set our expectations really high - and our expectations were surpassed!

The home was spacious enough to accommodate our group of family and friends without feeling crowded. The beds were super comfortable and the master bathroom had an amazing shower that everyone "needed" to experience. We loved hanging out in the large open kitchen that had plenty of room for several cooks to prepare meals at the same time. We had originally intended to eat out since we were on vacation; but the kitchen was so wonderful and spacious, and the deck, where we ate our meals, was so inviting - especially as we watched the sunset over the bay - that on one wanted to leave the house. We also loved hanging out in the big open living room by the fireplace.

Of course, when we did leave the house, there were amazing places to go and things to do. Several of our group enjoyed the kayaks that were provided for our use. There were also great places to walk right from the house, including the alpaca farm down the road and the English Camp which was nearby. The house was conveniently located, by car, to all the other sights we wanted to see on the island. We especially loved the hikes at the American Camp, where we saw amazing scenery and wildlife, including whales, seals, deer, eagles, and a fox. But no matter where we went, we always loved coming back to our special home on the island and hanging out on the deck or by the fire.
