What a wonderful Christmas and 50th Anniversary

We were able to spend a great time with our children and our grands but could retreat to the apartment at any time. Edan was a great hostess, the apartment was well located and decorated for the holidays. There were small grace notes which when you discovered them, brought a smile. It was clean and well maintained, furnished with all necessities and the location was perfect, down the street from our daughter's residence. We were also able to bring Molly and Brendan, our Australian Labradoodles. Sitting in the court yard brought many wonderful memories of New Orleans. We highly recommend this property and hope to have Christmas and anniversary dinners at Arnaud's for many years to come.

Long Stay in the Big Easy

My husband and I just finished a one month stay in this charming Uptown New Orleans rental. Lucky us!
We love New Orleans and especially like the Uptown neighborhood. This apartment's listing described what seemed to be the perfect spot for us, and thankfully, everything was as we hoped it would be. The rental is two spacious rooms, very comfortable and well equiped. The kitchen is especially well organised with good knives and quality cookware, much appreciated during our long stay.
The neighborhood is lovely, quiet and safe, and just a short walk to the street car, shops and restaurants. A perfect combination.
The private court yard is a great bonus, adding a sweet outdoor space. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. We were totally happy with our choice. It was hard to leave.... we hope to be back!

Great Location + Sweet Unit = Excellent Stay!!!

My wife and I discovered VRBO about 6 years ago and have enjoyed staying in wonderful homes and condos around the world, on 4 continents. I say that because I want to assure you that I know what I'm saying when I state that this was the best VRBO experience we have ever had!

The apartment is sweet, clean and very thoughtfully equipped. During our week in New Orleans, we never found ourselves wanting for a utensil, gadget or convenience. The owners are responsive and cooperative and go out of their way to cater to their guests. Although located on the property, the owners gave us privacy and discretion. It was the best of both worlds.

I won't repeat earlier reviews except to agree with all the good stuff. As I said, my wife and I have used VRBO over 25 times and we found ourselves commenting about how nice this unit was almost daily. In short we loved it.

A note about the location. We were here for a conference at the Convention Center and came with a car. Parking was convenient and safe. Had we not had a car, the St Charles Street trolley was a short two blocks away. In the morning, the Convention Center was 10 minutes away. The French Quarter and Canal Street were under 15 minutes at any time. There was easy access to all parts of New Orleans.

But there are also so many reasons to stay in the neighbourhood. You're in the middle of the Garden District. This part of the city was known as the "Isle of Denial" during Hurricane Katrina and was not flooded (although there was some wind damage) You are surrounded by amazing mansions and antebellum homes. Our unit dated from 1897. A walk around the neighbourhood is rewarded with many occasions where you stop, look at a home and become amazed by the size, or the porches or the design - or just the splendour.

Down the street, there is Crepes Nanou - a funky restaurant that is well worth a try - particularly for Sunday brunch at 11:30. Crepes Nanou is about 10 minutes walk up the street from the unit.

Within two blocks of Crepes Nanou are a 24 hour Walgreen's and a small supermarket with everything you could need. Very convenient.

We also found a restaurant about 1 mile down St Charles Street called Superior Seafood. There are other fine restaurants in the area, but to tell the truth, we loved Superior Seafood so much that we never got around to trying the others.

So back the the Unit. To sum up... the best experience we have had on VRBO. We highly recommend this rental.

Wonderful!

My husband and I stayed here for a week and couldn't have asked for anything more! The accommodations were perfect and the location is exceptional. We brought our dog along and enjoyed walking through the neighborhood and to nearby parks/coffee shops - perfect vacation spot. We highly recommend the Cypress Hideaway!

Fantastic Get Away with the Comfort of Home

There is no better experience to walk into your accommodations and feel like you just walked into your living room / home away from home. This a very clean and new rebuilt unit with a full kitchen right down to the washer dryer set up. The master bedroom is exceptional and the location is right off St. Charles Street....surrounded by the most beautiful mansions. Our daily walking tour was uplifting....especially to the New Orleans Coffee & Beignet store....A wonderful find and exceptional hosts....restaurants galore, cab rides to french quarter were abundant and the southern hospitality was right on the mark........the Corfee's are going back.

Charming Home Away From Home

When looking for a fun, quiet girls weekend in New Orleans, I needed a place that afforded an easy location AND allowed an escape from the city. I didn't have to look any further than this property! The fresh flowers, fruit, and bottled water were an added welcome touch to an already fabulous place to call home for the weekend. My friend, a chef by trade, was in love with the well-equipped kitchen. The living room was inviting enough to relax and feel right at home watching a movie. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom in sparkling clean condition. There was plenty of closet space and struck a great balance between being cozy in ambiance but extremely spacious in logistics. The location was great and we were able to walk to nearby cafes, drive to downtown, and take the street car when we just wanted a scenic ride. The neighborhood is beautiful, and it felt like coming home to a tranquil escape from the excitement of New Orleans. I'll definitely plan another stay here again soon!
