Le Marin is a pretty house set on the outskirts of the peaceful village of Bellegarde du Razes.

It has a large garden & fenced, private, heated 12mx 5m pool from where there are stunning views overlooking the surrounding vineyards & sunflower fields - making it the perfect summer holiday rental.

The house has exposed timber ceilings, terracotta tiled floors and terraces front & back for a shady place to sit and relax.

The spacious living room & eating area also has a woodburning stove for winter renting, flat screen TV & DVD & DVD's. Wi-Fi. There is a well equipped kitchen, two double bedrooms - one with an ensuite shower room. The large top floor sleeps four and the gite has both a bathroom and seperate shower room ( in addition to the ensuite). Linen Hire.

There are shady terraces for alfresco eating, a BBQ area and the garden provides plenty of room for outdoor games - all ideal for the self catering holiday.

Le Marin provides a comfortable and tranquil base from where to explore this wonderful region.

Le Marin is situated in a peaceful medieval 'circulade', Bellegarde du Razes, in the heart of the Languedoc. From the village you can enjoy walking or cycling through the rolling countryside and leafy vineyards.

A full range of local shops is provided by a nearby village and Mirepoix with it's medieval square which hosts a typical weekly French market.

There is much to see and do, whether it be Carcassonne and it's wonderful 'cite', the Canal du Midi, taking a trip to the Mediterranean coast for a day on the beach, ancient Cathar castles, playing a round of golf, or visiting beautiful Toulouse or making a day trip to Spain.

The region is famous for its sparkling white wine, Blanquette de Limoux, and Domaines and Caves are always happy to offer wine tasting.

The nearby Pyrenees provide skiing in winter or walking and hiking during the summer through hidden valley's.

Other activities include white water rafting, canoeing, horseriding, go-karting, mountain biking.

A fantastic week

We had a fantastic weeks stay at Le Marin! The setting is idyllic with a view for miles across the Razes plain. The gite itself catered well for all our needs and was kitted out with everything we could need for a week with 3 children aged 11-14, including wifi and satellite tv. However, it was the "outside" that won it for us with a beautiful pool (all fenced off), two paved eating areas and masses of lawn!

If you want peace, quiet and beautiful views balanced with home comforts and mod-cons then I recommend Le Marin wholeheartedly.

Great Family Holiday

Would absolutely recommend this property .....and for a young family. We took our 5 month old and 3 year old children with us and it was perfect - especially the great garden and pool. House lovely and cool when very hot outside.

BBQ area excellent - think we had a BBQ everyday at least once!

Accurate descriptions given, and we would definitely consider going again.

Perfect getaway

Our family have stayed twice at Le Marin for a fortnight and we cannot recommend it highly enough. We love it! The house is absolutely charming, with every conceivable kitchen utensil and contemporary but rustic style. It is immaculate and clearly loved. Claire and Tim set a very high standard for gite accommodation. The gardens are very extensive, far more area than is visable on the photos with the beautiful sparkling pool which is extremely well maintained, and stunning views across the rolling hills and surrounding countryside. Outside there are two lovely eating areas, a huge BBQ and plenty of quality outdoor furniture. The whole area is a photographer's paradise. Claire and Tim are extremely helpful and manage to strike the perfect balance of leaving you in peace, but being nearby if required. It is a perfect spot for relaxation, and to use as a base to explore the surrounding area. Absolutely ideal for couples, or families alike. The village location is wonderful. We loved to hear the unique bell chimes every evening, and that is really all you can hear. All in all it is a very special place and you're sure to want to come back!

Wonderfully peaceful

We have just spent a fantastic week at Le Marin. The gite is well maintained, spotless and well equiped. The pool is brilliant and our children spent most of the time in it including the morning we left! The village is quiet and the whole atmosphere is very peaceful. All in all lovely accommodation and a great base for exploring the area. Thank you Clare & Tim for you hospitality.

Our holiday to Le Marin was fantastic. The property was just as described and exeeded our expectations. The house was spotlessly clean and had all the facilities you would expect and all well maintained. The pool was substantial and was maintained weekly as was the surrounding land. The area is extremely peaceful and whilst a car is essential, Belegarde du Razes (the village) provides an ideal base to explore the Pyrenees surrounding areas. We would have no hesitation in recommending Le Marin - communication with the owners was excellent and very helpful.
