Located less than 20 minutes from Newark Liberty Airport and right across the Hudson River from New York City that can be reached in a short commute (by NJ Transit buses, PATH trains or NY Waterways Ferries), Hoboken is one of the best places to stay when visiting the area. It is a safe place for families, offers a diversity of restaurants, boutiques, parks and playgrounds, and definitely the best views of Manhattan, all within walking distance (one square mile only!).
Located on the 4th floor (WALK-UP/top floor) of a historical brownstone building (built in 1892), this condominium is ideal for a family of 4-6. It was renovated and upgraded in 2006. The master bedroom sleeps 2 adults (queen size bed) and the children’s small bedroom sleeps 2 (twin size bunk beds). A convertible sofa can accommodate 2 additional people in the living room. Fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, utensils, pots and pans, and small appliances (coffee maker, toaster). WiFi access and TV (no cable).
Tour books and maps available in the condo.
There is nothing easier than getting to Manhattan from Hoboken! The apartment is located two short blocks away from NJ Transit bus stop that will take you to Port Authority Bus Terminal/Time Square in 15 minutes (not during rush hour). A 20-minute walk or a 5-minute bus ride will take you to the PATH station, where you can catch a train and reach the Financial District/Chinatown (10 min.), Greenwich Village (10 min.), or 33rd street/Macy's (15 min.).
Spend your days sightseeing in NYC, come back to Hoboken and have dinner at home (grocery stores nearby) and relax.
You may also decide to take a break and relax in Hoboken, where there is plenty to do. Have lunch/dinner at one of the many ethnic restaurants, stroll around the birth town of Frank Sinatra, walk by the original baseball field, go up the hill and take a walk in the beautiful campus of Stevens Institute of Technology to enjoy a magnificent view of Manhattan from the George Washington Bridge all the way to the Financial district, shop at the many unique boutiques on Washington street, and take a peek inside Carlo’s Bake Shop that hosts Cake Boss, the TLC reality TV show.

We lived in this condo in Hoboken for 8 years. We fell in love with Hoboken and enjoyed living in a small town yet so close from the city.
You will love being able to come home from NYC every evening and enjoy its many restaurants and small town feel.
Severine purchased this apartment in 2004
Top floor condo. Great light.
This was our second stay at this great Condo. The unit was spotless, well equipped with stocked kitchen and all the amenities needed for a great stay. Short walk to the train station and all the great restaurants. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you
We had a nice stay in both the Garden Street and Garden Street 2 apartments. The stairs ascending to the apartments are very steep so not recommended for people who cannot walk well. There is a garden that appears to be for the whole building. The door was open to it when we arrived. We went out to see it and were yelled at by a woman living in the building that it was private property and we needed to get out. This was confusing since there was no sign indicating this and the door was open. The apartments had everything we needed and were comfortable. The futon bed is a futon bed. Not comfortable but kids are ok on it. We loved the area. We spent lots of time in Manhattan and the commute was actually fun. The ferry is great or the Path or the bus. We used all three and they were all convenient and easy to use. Hoboken is BEAUTIFUL! We loved Washington Street, the Stevens College Campus, the park by the water. We spent more time there than originally planned because it was so nice. Great food very close by and much cheaper than Manhattan. For the price these apartments are great! We would just recommend that future guest be notified that the attached garden is off limits. Maybe this is already noted and we just missed it. Thanks to Severine for the stay!
Stayed here for a week with my family of 5 in September. It was the best decision we made!
Very easy access to the bus on Washington Street, which comes every few minutes. the bus takes you to Port Authority/times square and from there you are free to go anywhere. the PATH train is also great to catch a bit longer to walk to (maybe 15 min) but it takes to to 33rd st or WTC. We even caught the ferry across oneday. It was expensive so wouldn't recommend using that regularly. Lots of restaurants to choose from but our favourite was lisa's deli on the corner..YUMMY!! We came in at midnight many times during our stay and felt very safe walking back to the apartment at that time with kids and all..there were even people jogging or walking their dog at those times. Owner was very helpful as well with any questions we had and always contactable. It was our first experience renting an apartment through VRBO and very happy to say that it was a great first experience.
Great apartment! It was very clean and comfortable and had everything that we needed for our stay! The owners were very accommodating and very responsive to our needs. The location was excellent. The owners provided great information to help us to enjoy Hoboken. We will definitely use this apartment again.
Stayed at the Garden St. apartment for three nights/four days earlier this month, when we were in town for our grand-niece's Baptism. We chose this apartment because it's in walking distance to our niece & nephew's home, which was important for us -- but what would be good for anyone considering this apartment is its proximity to public transit (the PATH station is a few blocks away, from which you can catch a train taking you right into NYC in mere minutes) and a lot of nice restaurants and shops along Washington St. The apartment itself is on a quiet residential street with nice shady trees. Five minutes away, there's a park along the waterfront with nice views of the NYC skyline.
There were five of us sharing this apartment -- my husband and I slept in one of the two bedrooms on a queen-sized bed, my sister slept on the very comfortable pull-out couch, and her two daughters slept on the bunk beds in the second bedroom. The rooms were clean and tidy, with freshly-washed linens. Sufficient closet and cupboard space in which to hang our clothes. We did not use the kitchen, really, but it came well-stocked with all the necessary plates, silverware, etc. Free wifi is offered. The AC units and ceiling fans were helpful in the 90°F heat of the summer. The one drawback was that there were five of us adults sharing one bathroom, but since we were only staying for three nights, it wasn't a major problem. This is a fourth floor walk-up apartment with no elevator -- do keep that in mind when packing, because you'll be carrying your luggage up a few flights of steep, narrow stairs.
Communication with Severine & Peerasit was easy and prompt. Severine was great at replying to our emails -- she even called and emailed us the day we arrived to ensure everything was to our liking. She was accommodating of our request for an earlier check-in. A binder was left on the dining room table with the apartment rules, but also menus for nearby take-out places, info on cab fares, etc.
All in all, we had a pleasant stay in Hoboken and would recommend this apartment to our friends.
My cousins and I had an excellent time here in Hoboken. The apartment was smaller than the pictures appear, but perfectly suitable for us three girls. It is on the 4th floor and the building doesn't have an elevator, so be prepared to walk some pretty steep stairs. It was very clean and the amenities were great. The location was close to the bus and ferry, which we used A LOT. There were plenty of places to eat and boutiques to peruse. A great walking town. I would most definitely recommend this spot to friends and family and would come back again. Thanks to Severine and Peerasit for sharing your place with us.
