A stay in the luxurious Chateau de St Louis is the epitome of chateau living. The Château provides overnight and weekly rental options with sumptuous entertainment for guests. The Chateau de St Louis comfortably sleeps 24 guests in its 10 stately en-suite bedrooms with extra beds available in a number of the rooms. The Count, who has owned the Chateau de St Louis for many years, could not be more welcoming. This is a jewel of France's architectural heritage, and any visitor to the Chateau will be delighted and charmed by the experience. Interestingly, the Black Prince imprisoned the French King, Jean le Bon, in the castle’s keep after the battle of Poitiers in 1356. This keep now offers additional luxury accommodation for a further 16 guests if rented in conjunction with the chateau. Le Chateau de Saint Louis is located in the most southern part of the Loire Valley in the region of Poitou-Charentes between the cities of Parthenay and Thouars. The castle is a 3 hour drive from Paris. By high-speed TGV train from Paris the travel time is 1.5 hours to Poitiers, which is a 45 minute drive to the castle.

  • The chateau has 10 bedroom suites to sleep up to 24 guests. Each of the luxury bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom. 5 of the bedrooms are to be found on the 1st floor and 5 on the 2nd floor of the chateau. There are 4/5 extra comfortable beds in the chateau should they be required. Each of the bedrooms has its own unique character; there are wonderful fireplaces, four poster beds and classic 17th and 18th century furnishings. On the ground floor of the chateau there is a dramatic salon, dining room and library. The chateau is usually rented on a catered basis, however there are 2 kitchens in the chateau that can be used on request.
