PIXIE PLACE IS CLASSIFIED AS 4 STAR BY VISIT BRITAIN TOURIST BOARD AWAITING 5* GRADING,it is riverside,south facing,child safe, and approximately 20 minutes pleasant country walk from all amenities in Old Windsor, it is 5 minutes drive from central Windsor, and ten minutes from Slough Station for the fast 17 minutes trains to Central London, also it is15 minutes drive to Heathrow Airport.Windsor Castle is seen from the adjoining country Lane. The property is 3/4 bedrooms detached house with pretty maintained gardens. There is a safety fence on the river side. It has a 300 sq feet of air conditioned conservatory off the lounge over looking the river.The decking is accessible from the lounge and the conservatory.The house has 2 bathrooms with power showers, one ensuite, and a cloak room.The luxuriously furnished lounge is very spacious,with excellent views of the river. Plasma TV 42' in lounge SKY family movie package, there is fast broadband cable and wireless internet service.

  • Both bathrooms and the cloak room have recently been refurbished to a high standard. The family bathroom has a full length bath tub and power shower cubicle, the ensuite bathroom also has a power shower cubicle. There are bidets in both bathroom. The cloak room is modern style and located on the ground floor.

  • The master bedroom is very spacious, on mezzanine floor, with ensuite bathroom, newly furnished, linens and towels are supplied. The front has a double size bed on the first floor. The river side bedroom, on the first floor also, over looks the river has a double size bed and adjacent to it is the family bathroom. All the house has been newly refurbished and refurnished. Although the house is in a very secure area, it has an alarm system and external security lighting.

Lovely house

We were pleasantly surprised to find our holiday house situated on the Themes. The house has a lovely teras to sit outside overlooking the river. The surroundings were beautiful. The house was clean and well maintained. It was lovely warm in the property when we arrived. The owner is available to give advise. The beds were clean and we slept well. There is not much room for the children to play in the garden but there are parks very close at Windsor and plenty of room for walks along the river.
By train from Windsor it only takes a good half hour to get to London.
It is a quite area and there are many things to do in the area. We visited Lego land which the kids enjoyed enormously.
All by all a lovely holiday and we certainly will come back again.
Owner's Response: We are very happy that our guests from Holland have enjoyed their stay, and that they would like to return soon.

As a large family of 6 from Australia we found this property to be very comfortable.The main bedroom is very large and beautifully decorated, the other 2 bedrooms were a little small but on English standards not to bad.The kitchen is very modern and fully equiped with every thing you could possibly need.The lounge and conservatory give you alot of living space so that you have room to relax even with 4 children.The furnishings throughout the property are of a high quality and the extra small touches of fresh flowers, books and even a christmas tree give it a very homely feeling.The heating was brilliant as we were there over christmas and not being use to the cold we really needed it.It does have a few levels of stairs which with very young chidren it may cause problems.My youngest was 5, but I dont think I would have liked to have a 2 year old in this property. The property is located in a lane of country style cottages in a country setting.The scenery is absolutly beautiful and quite surreal. But in saying this it means it is quite a walk to any shops. If you were staying for any lenght of time I would recommend maybe a rental car.We did use the taxi service which was very prompt and not to badly priced.We also used the trains into London which didnt take that long and were easy to use. The booking of the property was handled easily and fast with all questions answered with speed. We did have to wait for the return of the bond as there was a few small issues that had to be sorted out but once this was done it was deposited straight away. I found the owners to be helpful and caring.I would use this property again and are hoping to have the opportunity in the near future.

The homes in general in Australia and the USA are a bit larger than the UK houses and on one level. We look forward to receive our guests again soon. We do have stair gates to be erected if required for small children.

Beautiful, spacious home

Three couples of us from Texas stayed at the Pixie Place after a Transatlantic Cruise last April. We were so pleasantly surprised upon our arrival. There was plenty of room for all 3 couples, albeit two of the bedrooms were a little small, but ample. The master was great!! Just be aware that there are a substantial amount of stairs in and outside of the house. If you don't have knee problems, they are fine. The kitchen was very nice and well stocked. There is a nice television (although being from the U.S., we usually have televisions in our bedrooms, which we missed.) If you are not afraid of driving on the left side of the street (which we were), it would have been very nice to have had a car. However, the taxi service is very prompt and quite reasonable. Numerous times, we walked about a mile to the main road to a small store and a wonderful Italian Restaurant. Our favorite place to eat was walking distance (about 1-1/2 miles) on the trail across the river and lock to the main street. It has great food and very reasonably priced. If you are visiting Windsor for the first time, I would highly recommend the grocery store in town unless you have a car. We found it to be very convenient getting to London by train, and then upon your return, you can catch a taxi right outside the train station to return to Pixie Place. Also, I can't say enough nice things about the owners and the couple who manage the Pixie Place for them. They are ALL so nice and helpful. They are there to please their guests -- and believe me, they do!! If I ever return to this area, I would definitely stay at Pixie Place if it is available. I like the area much better than the "rat race" of London. We enjoyed the swans on the river right in back of the house!
Owner's Response: We are happy that our guests from the USA have enjoyed their stay at Pixie Place and would like to come back again. We have put a new second LCD TV in the master bedroom. The houses in England are much smaller than those in Texas. Pixie Place is built on stills for better view of the river and to avoid humidity. You can see the photo of the front of the house with the 8 steps. We welcome our guests from all over the world and assure them best of service.
