Our home away from home features stunning ocean views and is just a 7 minute walk from Maui's scenic 5 mile long Sugar Beach. We are also just a block from the Harbor with its' many restaurants, excursion boats, shops, the aquarium and mini-golf. With floor-to-ceiling windows that lead to your own private lanai, you can enjoy unobstructed views of the ocean and the excursion boats as they depart Maalaea Bay. The lanai also overlooks the salt-water swimming pool where you can catch some Maui rays!
We have embraced the island's warmth and charm and fused the colors and culture into the decor of our peaceful island hideaway. Since this is our own island home, we have tried to think of all the creature comforts, including: a comfortable king-size bed in the private bedroom, a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room, a 40' flat screen television, DVD player, high speed WiFi internet access, telephone with free local and long-distance calls to the mainland., a fully-equipped, newly-renovated kitchen, games, DVDs, books, binoculars for whale and boat-watching, beach chairs, beach mats, and beach towels. A clothes washer and dryer is located on the premise just steps away from the condo.
The central location of Maalaea provides easy access to all of the activities that Maui has to offer. You're just 15 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from the quaint town of Kihei, 20 minutes away from shopping in Lahaina, 35 minutes from hiking at Haleakala and 20 minutes from the resort town of Wailea. No matter what part of the island you want to explore, our central location leaves you only minutes away.

Mike and Julia met in Hawaii in the '60s when Mike was a submariner stationed at Pearl Harbor. We now live in Las Vegas surrounded by our two grown children and two beautiful grandchildren.

Our every day home is what islanders lovingly refer to as the Ninth Island, better known as Las Vegas, NV. Living in the desert, as you can imagine, leaves you with a deep desire to be surrounded by warm, clear, blue/green waters and green foliage. We chose Maalaea as our home-away-from-home because of the refreshing trade winds, the easy-access to the boat harbor and the amazing views! We love the central location that allows us easy access to everything and anything that Maui has to offer.
Having grandchildren, we wanted a vacation getaway that the whole family could enjoy. Beyond the beautiful beaches, we are walking distance to Maui Ocean Center - the Hawaiian Aquarium, miniature golf, shopping, dining and all of the excursions that depart out of the Maalaea Harbor.
The best thing about this condo is its location right off of Malaea Harbor. It is walking distance from all the ocean related activities such as snorkeling to Molikini Crater, whale and dolphin watching tours etc. Also the facility is very close to the beach to just sit and relax. It is very close to Kihei, and highways that take you to Hana and other south east Maui sights.
The condo itself is on the ground floor close to laundry, spacious, and has a nice view from its lanai. It was stocked well with all our needs including soap, shampoo, towels, paper towels, tissues etc. We loved our stay and would consider it again and recommend it to the friends and family visiting maui. One thing that could be better is the cleaning. The restroom cleanliness was okay and overall we saw dead cockroaches lying all around the house.
This was our first time to Maui and renting this condo, and neither disappointed! The convenience of the centrally-located condo was fantastic. The condo grounds were great and quiet. The condo itself had everything we needed. We will definitely rent this condo again and we highly recommend it to our friends and family.
We enjoyed the beautiful ocean view from our lanai every day. One day while having lunch, we spotted 4 whales and with the binnoculars supplied in the unit it seemed as though the whales were close enough to touch. The condo was clean and well stocked even with such things as a crock pot and rice cooker. It was easy to drive everywhere on the island as the location is central. We dined at 3 different wonderful restaurants which were within 5 minutes walking distance. There's a convenient little store just steps away and a very cute little beach which was never crowded. Thank you Mike & Julia for allowing us to stay at your lovely condo.
We had a group of 3 stay at Mike + Julia's lovely condo for a week. The condo is in a great central location in Maalaea... perfect location to easily drive to everywhere you want to visit: Lahaina, Kihei, Road to Hana, Wailea, Haleakala, airport, etc. If you're planning to take any ocean tours, it's right next door to Maalaea Harbor where many of the boat excursions go from. Mike + Julia have stocked the condo with everything you could possibly need for a fun, comfortable vacation: beach chairs, beach mats, boogie boards, beach umbrella, beach bags, cooler, the list goes on-and-on. The kitchen was also fully-stocked and the renovated bathroom was very clean and well-kept as well. The king-size bed was super comfy and the sofa pull-out was a breeze. It was great being on the 1st floor with the lanai overlooking the pool and ocean. We spent some nice time sitting out on the lanai with drink-in-hand and enjoying the breeze and view. We had a minor pest issue when we arrived (the condo next door had just undergone renovation as had the pool), but Mike was very helpful in getting the Office Manager and an Exterminator there as soon as possible...especially over the Christmas holidays. All-in-all, we loved the condo and had a great family vacation. Thanks Mike and Julia!
We had an amazing stay at this great condo. It was a fantastic location. The condo was EXACTLY as stated on VBRO – clean, confortable, modern, great décor and very well stocked. We liked being close to the waterfront and enjoyed being able to walk to Maalaea Harbor, restaurants, shops and especially Sugar Beach. We had a rental car and appreciated the assigned parking space. Thank you to Mike and Julia for being so helpful and accommodating. We are looking forward to returning next year.

Charming, centrally located, well-appointed condo! The kitchen had everything, the decor was beautiful, the view outstanding! We walked sugar beach every morning, barbecued in the evenings and had easy access to Lahaina, Kihei, the airport and Paia. The condo had all the amenities and made everything very comfortable and enjoyable.
The Maalaea Harbor is home to year-round boat excursion, including: whale watching, sport fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, sunset cruises, dinner cruises, etc. We are also a short walk away from miniature golfing and the Hawaiian Aquarium - The Maui Ocean Center. There are also resturants and shopping all within walking distance.
