My family and I (including my yellow lab) just returned from a wonderfully relaxing stay at the beach bum condo! It was very clean upon arrival (even approved by mother who is known to be a "neat freak") spacious, well situated and quiet. Would certainly recommend for friends and family and wouldn't hesitate to return in the future!
I too am appalled at what I read in the review from August 2013. This is my third visit to the Beach Bum and have never found this condo in anything but perfect condition. My husband and I truly love this place especially the convenience of the beach being less than 50 feet from the condo and a lovely pool and a elevator provided for your luggage. The BB is our favorite place. If you love to SHAG this is the place to stay as it is convenient to Ocean Drive and surrounding areas to shag. Don't let one bad review keep you from checking this wonderful place to out to relax and have fun. We look forward to our next visit to the Beach Bum Hideaway.
Alicia, you cannot imagine how appalled I was, when checking for a future rental time at the Beach Bum Hideaway, and read the review that was written by the 'vacationers' on August 10th, 2013! As you know, I have been fortunate to be able to stay there on several occasions and have been nothing but EXTREMELY PLEASED!!! And if one were to read the accolades that have been written in their Guest Book, you would feel that the above-mentioned review MUST BE SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN THE "BBH." As a matter of fact, I thoroughly enjoyed my relaxing vacation there July 28th - August 3, 2013. Upon my arrival, I found everything to be very neat, clean and in order. There were NO problems with reservations or check-in. In all of my dealings with you, I have found your demeanor to be very professional, courteous, friendly, helpful and PROMPT with any information requested. I personally find the BBH decor to be very soothing and relaxing . . . the view is AWESOME . . . tle location can't be beat . . . and the facilities lacked nothing that I needed. Also, I find it hard to believe that the conditions that were as described could have happened within just one week of my being there! If I may be so rude as to say so, it appears that just maybe someone didn't pay their pet deposit and was attempting to create a problem to over shadow it. Please forgive me if I have over stepped my bounds, but I find it very distasteful and unfair when one tries to find 'excuses' that are NOT FACTUAL! I loof forward to our continued business relationship in the future . . . and my time to be spent at one of MY FAVORITE PLACES to visit and just relax, unwind, and enjoy. Until next time . . . Georg

This letter is to commend the excellent service provided to us during our recent stay at Beach Bum Hideaway in North Myrtle Beach.
We appreciate the prompt, courteous, and professional attention we received from yourself and your staff. Everyone treated us with respect and responded immediately to our questions. Everything was outstanding. Beach Bum Hideaway was exceptional.
We could not have asked for anything better, and it made our vacation that much more special. You did an outstanding job, and we will contact you next summer for a vacation rental. Of course, we would not hesitate to recommend your company to anyone planning their vacation in North Myrtle Beach.

Being VRBO owners ourselves it was an easy decision to use the site to find a vacation spot for our family at the beach. We decided on a property and looked for the convenient "BOOK IT" button VRBO provides. Not on this site. So we emailed the owner...several times. Turns out it was a property manager. After numerous unanswered emails I called. She was SOOOO busy she just didn't have time to return my call (kids crying in the background).
She emailed the info. Cant I just pay on-line? VRBO allows for this. No we don't do that. I was asked to print a credit card form fill it out and MAIL IT. REALLY??? isn't this 2013???? I scanned it and emailed it. Never heard a response. I emailed asking for a response. None. I called left VM. Days later received a VM, she was SOOOO busy.
I never heard from the Property Manager and wondered when she would contact me for the remainder of my payment, due weeks before check-in. To my astonishment as of 3 weeks before my trip my initial deposit that confirmed my trip and kept me from cancelling was never charged to my account . It should have been charged a month prior. By the Property Manager NOT charging my account immediately at the time of my reservation I could have walked away from my reservation at any time. I wonder if the owner know of her negligence????
Four days before my trip I emailed looking for checking info. No response. Called, left VM. Received text she would send it in a few days....SOOO busy. Asked if I could get it ASAP since I'm checking in 3 days. I'm now really peeved because I know the level of service I give my guests and this job is not rocket science.
Checked-in. The unit was less than clean, full of caked on dusty knick-knacks, ceiling fans with black lined dust, sticky to the touch cabinets, fuzzy artificial plants and lamp shades. The shower curtains were so black and nasty that I threw them in the washer. DISGUISTING!!!!!
The Management Co. called us to gain entry to make repairs because the Property Manager was MIA. She must be SOOOO busy again!!!

The people the owners have entrusted there property to are failing them and they don't even know it or care. I'm hoping the latter. Being a property owner I know that finding help is difficult but checking up on them is part of the big picture.
Do yourself a favor and be a beach bum somewhere else.
