We are a couple of retired academics who could no longer tolerate the bitter winters on the east coast. The apartment very much reflects our own tastes and the way we would use it and we hope that it will coincide with your own requirements.

We do a lot of entertaining so you'll find plenty of table settings and a great deal of cooking ware.

This location is convenient to the best that Santa Monica has to offer. Five short blocks to the beach. Our access to the beach is at the beginning of a charming walk to the Pier. Have tea or Sunday brunch at the Shutters along the way to the 3rd St. Pier and downtown Santa Monica..

Relax and enjoy everything you long to do the rest of the year without distraction. Go to the beach frequently but avoid baking in the sun and have the pleasure of cocktails at sunset.

The apartment is 699 sq. ft. in addition to an private patio of 500 sq. ft. that includes a charcoal barbecue, a propane gas broiler, outdoor heater, lots of seating and an outdoor office.

Excellent Rental Close to the Beach

I stayed here for the entire month of Sept. 2013. You simply won't be disappointed in booking this Beach retreat. Joan's place is perfectly situated in Santa Monica as far as proximity to the beach...enough distance from tourists...and close walks / drives to restaurants & shopping. The outdoor grilling / lounging / sunning area of her place is fantastic. Great host! I would definitely welcome the opportunity to return.

Perfect Santa Monica Condo

I had the opportunity to stay at this lovely condo for a month during August/September. The place was exactly as advertised on VRBO. Location was perfect, only 4 blocks to the beach and a 10 minute walk to the Promenade. The outside patio was a great place to relax and barbeque, and was quite large. Joan was a pleasure to deal with, and I experienced no problems at all. The wireless internet worked very well, as I was there on business. I would recommend this condo for anyone looking to experience Santa Monica in a well kept, and very clean environment. Thank you, Joan

A great place in a great location

This condo was the perfect home for my July in LA. The place was spacious, clean, and well-decorated with modern furnishings. It gets plenty of natural light and I had a great time working, relaxing, and entertaining friends there. The condo truly felt like home after a few short days, and the location can't be beat for exploring all the west side has to offer. Joan was always warm, helpful, and a pleasure to work with. Hope I have an opportunity to stay again sometime!
