This beautiful and light ‘boutique style’ apartment is situated in the leafy Plantage area which is in the heart of the city of Amsterdam.
It has been completely renovated and lovingly furnished. The spacious apartment has high original ornamental ceilings, a display fireplace and 3 large windows on the North and South side.
The kitchen is like everything else in the apartment – simple, beautiful and high quality and is fully equipped including dishwasher, fridge-freezer, washer/dryer, SMEG hob/oven and granite worktops.
The bathroom includes a large walk-in shower with double basin vanity unit. The bedroom has an original ornamental ceiling, king-sized bed, built-in wardrobes and two large original doors that close the bedroom and bathroom from the open-plan living/kitchen space. The WC/toilet is located separately to the bathroom.
Each piece of furniture has been chosen to create a beautiful and relaxing home. The apartment also has high-speed wireless internet, and a 32-inch Samsung flat-screen TV, DVD player and iPod speaker base.
This first-floor apartment is located very close to the Amsterdam Business School on a leafy and charming street in a quiet residential part of the city.
Within 1-3 mins you can walk to various local cafes, restaurants, bakery, supermarket, book store, Kriterion (arty) movie house, Oosterpark (lovely green park), multiple canals, Artis Zoo and the metro/tram.
Take a 10-15 min (beautiful and safe) walk, and you are out of the calm and tranquility and into the buzzing ‘hub’ of the more crowded, busy, exciting and ‘touristy’ part of the city.
If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet, relaxing well loved ‘home’ to stay in which is right in the heart of the city to enjoy while you explore the canals, museums, shops, parks, restaurants and culture of Amsterdam, then this apartment is the perfect choice.

Hello! I am now spending much more time in the UK and so have decided to share my beautiful Amsterdam 'Roets' apartment with others who are looking for a wonderful and calm oasis to stay while enjoying the many charms of central Amsterdam.
Claudine OLeary purchased this apartment in 2010
I LOVE the Plantage area of Central Amsterdam. It's green and leafy, charming, full of restaurants and local cafes. It's very safe, very quiet and provides a very local and authentic Amsterdam.
It's the old Jewish quarter and is steeped in history. The location is BEAUTIFUL. In the heart of the city and yet away from the tourists and crowds.
I bought in this area because I have great friends closeby and I love the mix of people and how quiet it is even though in the heart of the city.
This area of Amsterdam is incredibly beautiful. Quiet, relaxed, residential, friendly, safe and full of culture, museums, canals and the Amsterdam University.
Locals sitting outside in the sunshine in cafe terraces, children playing, students at the University and locals going about their daily lives.
We really enjoyed this apartment, which was in a quiet neighborhood and very accessible to trams and the Metro. However, if you wanted to walk everywhere, you could do so as well. There's also a grocery store nearby, which allows for cooking/evenings in after long days of wandering about. We also used the movie theatre/cafe a block away a few times, which was fun. The apartment is modern, clean, and just altogether lovely. The only recommendation I have is to bring an eye mask for sleeping if your apartment or house at home is protected from streetlights. The bedroom has lots of filtered light. That's not a complaint, just a note if the next renter needs it. Altogether, this relaxing, quiet apartment made our week-long stay in Amsterdam over the holidays perfect - even better than our past three visits there!
My husband and I arrived on 12/12/2014 and were met by Kate who walked us through the apartment - she also provided numerous suggestions for restaurants, tours and a great yoga studio around the corner. We walked everywhere! The apartment and it's amenities were amazing, everything we needed was provided and I would stay here again without questions. It was also very easy to book - no issues at all. I've travelled a lot and have very high standards - this apartment exceeded my expectations.
My wife and I found this apartment to be all we had hoped it would be- roomy, clean, ideally located to the metro, quiet, and a safe neighborhood. There were no unpleasant surprises and the communications with the owner were excellent. We would stay again.
My husband and I stayed in this wonderful apartment for one week in October to explore this fabulous city. We loved it! My husband is very tall (6'8'') and the king size very comfortable bed and large shower with rainfall shower head were greatly appreciated. We were worried about the location at first, but it was perfect. Nice quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance to many sites and readily available metro and tram lines to the rest. Very easy to navigate this city. Nice to have grocery store within 2 blocks. Having laundry, kitchen and internet access made everything so much easier. Fabulous place to stay. Nice to have Kate in town in case of any problems. Great for couples! Only one flight of stairs which is great for Amsterdam (trust me). Would definitely stay here again if in Amsterdam.
My husband and I stayed in Claudine’s charming apartment for a week in October. We had a great time! We loved Amsterdam and the apartment. Dealing with both Claudine and Kate could not have been easier. They provided prompt and helpful responses to any and all questions and concerns. Kate arranged for a taxi to pick us up at 6:15 A.M. on the morning of our departure and said we should call her at 6:20 AM if it did not show up. Thankfully, it did. The apartment was in a great location, convenient without being in a hub of tourists. It was very comfortable and so much nicer than a hotel room. Staying there really enhanced our vacation and we would gladly stay there again. Thank you, Kate and Claudine.
My husband and I stayed here for a week in September - it was a wonderful choice. Dealing with Claudine and Kate was very easy - all emails were responded to promptly and Kate was standing on the street waiting for us on our arrival. The photos of the apartment are accurate - the apartment is spacious and was sparkling clean. The washing machine worked well and the apartment was well stocked with supplies. Kate recommended some restaurants and we tried Na Siam for Thai food, which was great. We also went to Loetje which was delicious - they serve huge portions! We had two bike tours with Mike's Bike Tours that were highlights of our week. Biking in Amsterdam is not for the faint of heart and it was fun to bike and learn at the same time. The guides at Mikes Bikes were interesting, relaxed and informative. Finally, having the restaurant Torino downstairs and a couple of doors over was a fantastic - we ended up there either for supper or a glass of wine every night. The apartment is walking distance to everything. I'd highly recommend this apartment - it was a huge part of why we loved Amsterdam so much. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Amsterdam. Barb & Jim
