The forested property backs onto a regional walking / bicycle trail that connects with paths throughout the national capital region and the well-established Quebec bicycle route system.

Ray & i like to live simply, enjoying our children and grandchildren. We enjoy making new friends from around the world so look forward to greeting every new visitor in our 'Home in the Forest2', aptly named by our very young grandchildren.
We love to travel and are fortunate to do so either for work or volunteering with NGO - Solar Cooks and Carpenters in Lesotho, southern Africa. This project provides solar cookers (Sunstoves) to Grandmothers with orphans from money donated from caring Canadians.
We speak English, get by in French, can speak to children in Danish and Spanish and greet people in Sesotho, but have discovered that smiles transcend all languages.
Ray and I chose this location for its unique setting - tranquil rural area with wonderful tall trees (eastern tall not western tall!) yet close to downtown Aylmer and the Ottawa/ Hull national capital core.
Ottawa, the nation's capital, is 15 minutes away using only 4 streets (ok - 1 is very long)! The distance from rural to city is unique to the Quebec side of the Ottawa river.
We can cross-country ski from the front door in winter and warm our toes by the fireplace with hot drinks.
In summer, cycling or walking the railway path leads to the nearby Ottawa river meeting up with the beach or continuing along bicycle paths around the national capital region or Quebec's well known cycling system.
A hot summer afternoon lunch or dinner can be enjoyed on the screened-in verandah.
Minutes from the Gatineau Hills, Ottawa river and Aylmer Marina. Hike the hills, swim in the river or launch your boat at the marina to fish, water-ski or sail one of Canada's old voyageur routes.
