This condo was originally owned by my father. Before his passing, his dream was to remodel the location and to have others enjoy this beautiful piece of paradise. With determination and hard work I have been able to make his dreams come true and would like to share his dream of living in paradise with you.
We traveled over Xmas 2014 and found this unit to be better than advertised. my family of 4 had plenty of room and the accommodations were very good. We spent alot of time on the lanai taking int he quiet mornings and great sunsets. Facility and grounds are nice and well cared for. We loved being so close to the beach and the road noise is non-existent as this is Keihi and not Kapalua. Easy walking distance to the shopping centre and i recommend the 808 Bistro for bfast or dinner equally as good. All the beach toys included. Mahalo George!
this condo is clean, well-located (across from the beach), and stocked with linens, beach chairs, etc. The street in front of the condo is very noisy and the birds will definitely awake you at 5:30 AM, every morning. Otherwise the place is perfect.
Location, Location, Location!!!!! We loved this location! My favorite 3 beaches for my family to play and swim at are Keawakapu?, Kamaole III and Big Beach and this condo's Lanai was 100 yards from Kamaole III and an 7 minute walk on the beach path from Kam III to Keawakapu? Beach. And only a 12 minute drive to Big Beach. This condo was walking distance to several good shopping and dining locations, which made it easy for a walk in the morning or evening to go get breakfast or dinner or an ice cream from several different shops. Located on the 3rd floor the Condo offers a good view overlooking the pool area.
I hate to spoil all the fun, but there are reasons why I didn't score this condo 5 stars... Overall the Parkshore condo community seemed to be lacking the “Aloha” spirit just saying hi or being friendly. They also have a very strict set of pool rules full of “NO’s”. We have stayed at the Mana Kai, Marriott, Kehei Surfside, and several other places on Maui and never seen such strict pool rules. It was not family friendly. It was more like the “quiet zone” and as soon as the kids splashed a little or made noise the elderly folks gave us the look like we were not welcome at the pool, after this happened several times while we were at the pool, we decided to just go swim at the Kihei Surfside and the Mana Kai since we knew other families staying over there and they were very welcoming & accommodating to us.
The other downer was the noise levels. On the 3rd level you can hear everything, and nothing was more annoying than the loud birds every morning in the trees 8 feet from the bedroom windows at 6am. And if the birds didn't wake you, the tennis players were sure to wake you during their 6:30 / 7am tennis matches on the 3 courts that backed up to the bedroom windows. We couldn't win on sleeping in past 6:30 am on any of the 9 days of our stay.
Overall the condo room was very clean, but sparse on the décor. It had most of the essentials in the kitchen that we needed. Some things in the condo needed minor repairs and I emailed the repairs to the condo owner and he was already scheduled to arrive to do regular maintenance on his condo the same day we checked out. He was super friendly and helpful before, during and after our stay. I’d probably stay here again with my wife, but without the kids since the pool is a big deal for us during our family vacations... and I would absolutely bring ear plugs :0)
This is the fourth unit we have stayed in at the Parkshore. We stayed here in November 2013. I liked how the kitchen had been renovated in the unit, and appreciated the tile flooring throughout. Also this unit had edited out some of the larger pieces of bedroom furniture and because of this felt more roomy and spacious than some of the other units we have stayed in that were more cluttered. The Parkshore is not fancy, but clean, well cared for, every unit has a beach view and big lanai's compared to other condos we have seen. The location of the Parkshore to Kamaole III beach is a huge draw for us, we love being able to cross the street back to the condo to grab a snack or something you forgot. Good all round beach with snorkeling, turtles lifeguard and no beach break. My 9 year old makes good use of the pool as well.
