It is beautifully decorated and every small detail is covered to make your self catering holiday easy and relaxing.Catering, baby sitting and additional cleaning can be available as extras. There is free parking outside the property. There are books to read and DVDs and games to play on rainy days.We even provide emergency toiletry packs should your suitcases go missing.Whether you want to golf, swim, cycle, visit art galleries, museums or gardens, go riding or go-karting or explore the picturesque fishing villages nearby, there is something for everyone. We provide a very informative guide to sights and restaurants and are nearby to answer any questions.
Golfing in St.Andrews: St.Andrews is the Home of Golf with seven golf courses and a further eighteen within half an hour's drive. Therefore, there should be an interesting course available every day to the visitor. With our welcome pack and information brochure there are details of booking procedures.
Sandmill House exceeded our expectations! The location is prime within the adorable town of St. Andrew's. The views are inspiring from every room. The spaciousness of this home is only part of the luxury you will find. It is less like a "condo rental" and more like a 5 Star exclusive holiday home. It is a Victorian row-house and the interior is reflective of the time period of the original construction but completely remodeled to today's highest standards. The kitchen was easy to use--we took advantage on our final two nights when we grew weary of trying to find the "authentic Scottish meal" at restaurants and instead visited the butchers, the bakery, the local produce market and the cheese shop to construct our ideal meal!
Traveling from San Diego, California, we opted to pack light for convenience and were able to wash our clothes in the washer and the dryer. The owner, Mary Boulter, provides laundry detergent as well as dishwasher detergent and dishwashing liquid. She also provides plenty of T.P. and toweling. This is important to note since not all vacation homes provide these essentials. Sandmill House is truly complete. The breakfast and snack groceries she stocks are also welcome and continuing with the obvious theme, "top notch." I discovered a new amazing coffee thanks to Mary--Taylors of Harrogate "Lazy Sunday!" YUM.
We like to travel comfortably and when researching possible vacation rentals I look for key words like, "luxury," immaculate," and "view." These words all describe Sandmill House and I consider myself not only a seasoned traveler but fairly particular. My husband is the hardest of all to please and he was so smitten with this property, he wished he could buy it! He kept saying, "LeAnn, you did good with this one!" We will definitely return--hopefully with friends and family to share this gem in the perfect town in the lovely country of Scotland.

We find all our visitors so interesting in their different and varied ways and really love getting to know them a little.
I do admire those who travel from the other side of the world and arrive, after an enormous amount of travelling, looking so fresh and eager to start their holiday - always so polite and friendly.
We have welcomed visitors not only from the British Isles but also from Japan, Canada, America,Germany and Australia, most of whom have become regular once a year visitors, which is marvellous, as they become our friends as well.
I am always eager to hear how they find everything and seek to improve things for our visitors - so am grateful for any suggestions and comments.
We are fortunate in being situated in St Andrews which is so full of history, character - and of course the University and the golf!
All of which is an attraction and provides a lovely base from which to explore Scotland.
I can't really add anything new to the reviews already posted, but simply reiterate that Sandmill House is a delightful place to stay: warm and welcoming, with comfortable everything (couches, beds, chairs), thick carpeting, great lighting. The bathrooms really do make you feel like you're staying in a spa, and the kitchen comes equipped with everything you could need, including top of the line oven, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. A guest can walk to the center of town in 4 minutes, to the Royal & Ancient in 4 minutes, to a movie theater in 3 minutes -- the location is ideal.
What makes your stay even better is the embrace of the owner, who makes sure to prepare the house precisely to your needs. In addition to the promised decanter of excellent spirits, she had laid in all the supplies we would need for a proper breakfast, including packets of delicious Scottish smoked salmon, eggs, bread, coffee and, of course, tea. The house is fully supplied with informative material about St. Andrews, Edinburgh, golfing, Scotland in general. She greeted us with enthusiasm on our first day and then left us to enjoy our stay. I would have liked to stay forever, and to be adopted by her too! All in all, our Thanksgiving in St. Andrews was exactly what we had hoped for, and we have the owner to thank!
I have only have a second - however, we stayed here and absolutely loved it! It was incredible, amazingly well decorated, so many touches and thoughtful bits to make every bit special. We were so surprised as it is much better and more impressive than the website alludes it to be like - it is under marketed. Loved the jacuzzi, loved the steam room shower, kitchen, bedrooms and such comfortable beds, the views, SOFAS!! So easy to relax. All in all - Excellent.
So many thanks to Mary, who made sure we had everything and her knowledge of the area was suberb - she should really be a travel agent!! and cannot wait to return to the gorgeous Sandmill.

We were so impressed with the quality of the property. Everything was so nicely decorated, and was the perfect balance of luxury and comfort. Additionally, the location was exceptional.
It was immediately that the property was meticulously clean and lovingly cared for. We all felt each area of the house was beautiful... beautiful views as well. Each of the bedrooms was very well done, spacious, and had every comfort you could imagine (wonderfully comfortable beds, a pants press in each room, tv’s in each room, etc…)
The house has beautiful touches and really nice features throughout. The bathrooms were just what we needed after a tough round…they had a jacuzzi tub, steam shower, rain shower, heated towel racks, etc...
The owners are so welcoming! They really went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed to create some happy memories.
If we are ever lucky enough to return to St. Andrews we've all already decided we'd LOVE to vacation here again. It was an exceptional property!

Die grosse und gemütliche Fewo liegt in der ersten und zweiten Etage eines 2-Familienhauses mit seitlichem Meerblick in einer Seitenstrasse der Uferpromenade. Sie entsprach voll und ganz unseren Erwartungen und der Beschreibung. Das grosse, helle WoZi mit, Flatscreen, kleinem Gaskamin und ausreichend Sitzmöglichkeiten zur Strassen- und Meerseite liegt in der 1.Etage. Ebenso die perfekt eingerichtete, grosse und gemütliche Landhausküche zur Hofseite. In der 2.Etage befinden sich 3 Schlazi (2x zur Strasse/1x zum Hof) und 1 kleines Duschbad mit WC (ohne Fenster). Ein grosses Bad mit Fenster und Wanne + sep.Dusche sowie WC auf der Halbetage zum Parterre. Die Schlazi verfügen über ordentliche Betten, ausreichend Schrankkapazität (etwas alt und muffig), Kleiderständer, Hosenbügler und TV. Die TV-Programme verfügen jedoch nur über englischsprachige Kanäle (wie leider fast überall in GB). Der W-LAN-Anschluss funktionierte schnell und einwandfrei. Die Vermieterin ist herzlich und gut organisiert. Bei Bedarf ist sie in 15 Minuten vor Ort. Die Lage der Wohnung ist perfekt für fussläufiges Erreichen des Old-Course sowie der "City". Restaurants überall in der Nähe. Personen, denen das Treppensteigen nichts ausmacht können wir dieses Domizil nur wärmstens empfehlen. St.Andrews mit seinem endlosen Strand und der pittoresken, alten Innenstadt eignet sich zudem noch gut als Zwischenstation in die Highlands.
Situated in a historic, seaside , university town this property offers an amazing place to stay for golfers, visiting academics, historians or tourists alike. It is a mere three minutes walk from the first tee of The Old Course and also within easy walking distance to the town centre, the beaches, cathedral and castle. St.Andrews is a short taxi/bus ride from Leuchars mainline railway station, with a direct link to Aberdeen, Edinburgh and London. International airports at Edinburgh and Aberdeen are convenient , also there is a local airport at Dundee. There is a motorway/dual carriageway access to good main roads into St.Andrews.
Golf: We are three minutes walk from The Old Course, St.Andrews. The home of golf. There are 25 golf courses within a radius of 25 minutes.
To confirm your booking a 30% non refundable deposit is required. Our insurance company requires us to ask you for a refundable damage deposit of £250 which is payable with your final payment and which we hope to return to you within a week of your departure. Christmas, Easter and golf events may alter the letting price.

There are two luxury bathrooms with traditional wash hand basins and toilets, also featuring a jacuzzi spa bath and separate power shower in the family sized bathroom and a Pharos Aquafun steam room and shower in the upper bathroom. Both showers offer rain dance drench heads as well as wall mounted adjustable power hand showers and body jet sprays.

Three traditionally luxury bedrooms with all possible extras included in each room for your comfort (Corby press, tv,digital radio, hairdrier, fluffy bathrobes and towels for everyone.) The zip and link double beds, which have pocket sprung mattresses, were made specially for us and can be turned into two single beds in each bedroom. There is a cot available extra on request.

The property is on the first and second floors and is an end terrace house in a row of Victorian houses and is therefore unsuitable for wheelchairs or the infirm. The sun filled kitchen has a 5 ringed Range master stove and in addition there is antique Welsh dresser and French farm dining table with matching chairs.
