|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Cosy, warm apartment, very spacious and airy, not specifycally designed and furnished for vacation rentals, as the most of the Venice apartments are, as owners have been living here until few months ago.
Here you will find a lot of beautiful traditional wooden furnitures and not the usual 'fake venetian style'.
The relaxing living room, the dining room with the large table and a lot of light coming from the windows, the spacious bedrooms, will make your stay here a very pleasant experience.
Central air conditioning and heating will guarantee a very good rest and relax.
The small nice terrace is also an amazing plus, it will be a pleasure to have your lunches or breakfast here, a shady, fresh refuge from the summer heat.
In the apartment you will find one single bedroom, one bedroom with 2 separate beds, and a master bedroom with a large, comfortable king bed so that it can accomodate up to 5 people in full comfort.
The kitchen-diner is fully equipped, with fridge, freezer, stove, hoven, kettle, toaster etc.
The location is simply the most central, convenient and strategic you could find in Venice, you are just between Rialto bridge and San Marco square, but in a narrow, side street, we call it 'calle'..., just a bit hidden from the main tourist stream, so the place is really quiet and calm.
A number of shops is just outside the door: supermarkets, bakeries, greengrocers, 2 pharmacies and 4 banks are 200 meters far and the Rialto fish and vegetable market is 5 minutes walk.
The closest vaporetto stop is Rialto, you will arrive there in almost every case, both if you will arrive from the Marco Polo airport and from the train station or from cars and buses terminal, Piazzale Roma, we will be waiting for you there if requested, and anyway we will give you all the instructions to reach the apartment in the easiest way.
For food lovers...:
A large selection of good restaurants and trattorias is very close to your place: Do Forni, Splendid Suisse Hotel restaurant, Fiaschetteria Toscana, Alle Testiere, Harry's Bar, Met's, Da Remigio, Osteria Santa Marina, etc, etc, are all from 2 to 10 minutes walk, all very well regarded also by Venetians.
A spritz (white wine or prosecco, seltz and Bitter Campari aperitif) and a 'polpetta' (fried meat ball), a tramezzino or a 'cicheto' (appetizer) in the Rialto area in the late morning will get you, once and for all, inside the Venice mood.
We will be glad to suggest other options in the city heart.
Not to be missed in the area...:
- Querini Stampalia Foundation
- Piazza, Basilica e Campanile di San Marco
- Palazzo Ducale
- Museo Correr
- Chiesa di Santa Maria Formosa
- Chiesa dei SS. Giovanni e Paolo
- Teatro La Fenice
- Chiesa dei Greci
- Ponte di Rialto
- Rialto fish and vegetables market
- Mercerie and Via XXII Marzo, for serious shopping lovers
I have been to Venice many times, so I was aware of the area, and it suited out needs. When I called Elisa because it took us a little longer to get to the apartment than we anticipated, and we were afraid we had missed her, she was a little unpleasant because she though I was criticizing her, but she turned out to be very charming in person. Mario and Laura were very easy to work with as we planned the trip.
As in all of Venice, the main street, San Lio, was overcrowded, but when we stepped off 2 "blocks" to the apartment, it was another world with very little foot traffic. The apartment is large, and, although there is only a central air wall unit for the whole apartment, it kept the whole apartment very, very cool!! Everything was exactly like the pictures. Our only problem was that the windows face other apartment windows right across the tiny calle--think 6 feet away. Their televisions could have been in our rooms with us, even with the windows closed. Thus is the nature of staying in a neighborhood which is what we prefer, but do note that if you need peace and quiet at all times.
The apartment was very easy to find, but the door is not green as stated in the directions; it is brown. It was a quick walk across Campo Bartelemeo to the Hotel Rialto dock where we met our water taxi at 4AM!
Appartamento con ottima dotazione, comodo, silenzioso e soprattutto eccezionale per la vicinanza a tutti i fulcri di interesse della città, raggiungibili in meno di 5 minuti di cammino.
Guest LP(Rome). Date of stay 10/17/13 review Submitted 10/21/13 Very comfortable accomodation in central position between Rialto Bridge e St.Marco Square. Spacious and clean apartment. Perfect for a claustrophobic person like my husband! We spent marvellous days in a nice place well maintained and furnished. The kitchen is perfectly equipped and the bedroom really cosy. There is a cheap grocery nearby. Really an excellent solution for a family or a little group of friends.
We spent 3 nights at the apartment in early October. It was spacious and clean and exactly as presented. It would have been helpful to have directions on how to use the washing machine. I tried a couple of times but couldn't figure it out. I would definitely stay here again.
We were 4 ladies visiting Venice. The apartment was as described but directions were difficult to follow. There was some confusion on meeting up with our contact but that was soon remedied. The apartment was clean and ready for us to move right in. The weather was very cool during our stay and no heat. We called the owner and was told it was the law that we could not turn on the heat. This made out stay very uncomfortable. Location was very good for all activities.
Very good accommodations centrally located between St. Mark's and Rialto Bridge. CLEAN apartment. Air conditioning was a big plus. Wireless internet worked fine. It is not luxurious, but it is a very nice place to stay. Ground floor entry to building seems more like a basement than an entry, but once one goes up a floor to the apartment, the living area is very nice, so don't be put off by the sparse entry.
The owner arranged for someone to meet us at the apt. He met us when he said he would and he spoke English, which was helpful. The apartment is close to San Lio "street" which has a small COOP grocery so that we picked up pop, coffee, and inexpensive snacks.
We would stay here again and would recommend it to others,
