A full renovation of this fabulous 1920’s home in the heart of Minneapolis was completed in March 2012.
This 4 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom home features a queen size bed in every bedroom, an additional single size bed in one of the bedrooms and room for one on the sofa (or cot if preferred). As owners of 4 other VRBO vacation rentals in the area, we have a reputation for providing quality accommodations that are SUPER clean! Plus we live in the neighborhood making it very convenient for you in case you need something that isn’t already provided. Do you need a Pak’n’Play? Don’t worry, we have it! Do you need extra chairs for friends coming over for brunch? Don’t worry, we have you covered there too! What about extra cooking utensils because you are having a BBQ?? Yup, no worries there either.
This is your perfect home away from home featuring old world charm with modern amenities. Our kitchen features stainless steel appliances with a dishwasher, fridge/freezer with filtered water & ice maker, range and microwave. The plush carpet in the lower level (basement) makes it feel so cozy & washer and dryer are provided as well. The backyard features a great patio with a charcoal grill.
We have been renovating homes since 2002 and started renting some of the homes as vacation rentals in 2007. Having utilized VRBO and vacation rentals on our vacations, we decided to give it a go and quickly became the pioneers of vacation rentals in the Minneapolis area.
Angie Toomey purchased this house in 2011
This is one of the most convenient neighborhoods in Minneapolis for out of town guests to stay in while visiting the Twin Cities for play, business or other needs. We also rent homes to students at the University of Minnesota as we are Gopher Alumni!
Clean and Quality at a reasonable price!
House exactly as described, in a quiet neighbourhood. My family enjoyed our time there, owner answered any queries we had promptly.
We had travelled from England and it was great to be able to relax in this lovely home.
We shopped at Lunds grocery store a short walk away but well worth it.
A pleasure to rent from this owner, I would recommend this house to anyone wanting to explore the Twin Cities.
This property was awesome for our bachelorette party. The house was very clean and in a quiet neighborhood. The train runs frequently but was not disrupted to us in the least.
Angie was very helpful and wonderful to work with. I would recommend this property to others looking for a house to stay in while in Minnesota or for an event such as ours.
Angie was very good. A complaint about the dishwasher was taken care of right away.
House is very close to a train track, on a very busy line as there is constant train traffic.
No complain with the main level of the house. The basement does not feel like it's getting enough air circulation.
The Cole Ave property has some positives and negatives. The positives include a well remodeled kitchen and bathroom and a bountiful supply of utensils (pots, pans, glasses, etc.). It is a good way to save money by eating in on a vacation. Furthermore, the house also has nice audio/visual accommodations including television and WiFi. Angie was very accomodating and helpful with email details prior to our stay. The property negatives include a creaky floor upstairs and an uneven floor downstairs. The bed where my wife and I slept was hard and slanted and the train going by is pretty loud for upstairs bedrooms. The neighborhood offers some college attractions and a park, but probably not the focus of a tourist trip to the Twin Cities. All and all, a good place and worthy of the 3 stars (or C+ grade).
Me and 3 other friends stayed at this house for 5 days. The house was very clean (almost looked new) and fit all three of us very comfortable. We each had our own beds plus it fit our golf equipment with no problem. Even though we had a rental car, the house is close enough to downtown to catch a taxi at a very low cost. My only recommendation or wish would be to have a larger ironing board, other than that I can't think of any other improvements. I would definitely stay at this house again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Minneapolis area. Angie answered all my questions in an appropriate time and provided enough information at the house that I didn't have to ask any other questions. Thank you Angie and I look forward to visiting again!!!
We enjoyed our stay in your home. This was our first time to Minneapolis and were here for our son's wedding. More comfortable chairs & larger dinner table would have been nice for this many adults, and more cooking utensils, especially...a cookie sheet...as we did a lot of cooking. More clothes hangers would have been good too. We did make needed purchases at the dollar store to help out. We had two crawling-age babies so needed to be very watchful so they wouldn't fall down the stairs. Owners were great in providing us with highchair and pack/play bed. A favorite memory...we had a fantastic thunder/lightening storm! We don't get those in Oregon.
FYI: Mannings Restaurant was great for breakfast and just steps from the house. Good location, good off-street parking, clean, updated, good beds, great shower heads! Thanks so much for helping us make wonderful family memories.
Waterpark with mini-golf is less than two miles from the house. Van Cleve Park is located 7 blocks from the house and has a wading pool, two playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, a community center and baseball fields!
Catch a Twins game at Target Field (4 miles from the house) or a Timberwolves game at the Target Center (4 miles from the house).
Listen to live music at one of Minneapolis' many outdoor "Music in the Park" venues.
Check out an outdoor movie on Monday nights at Loring Park (4.5 miles from the house)
Do you know about the Minneapolis Restaurant Scene??? We are rated in the top!! Ask Angie for recommendations on exactly what you are looking for...she/I will not steer you wrong :)
