Golfing at Humber Valley: Humber Valley is a Championship Golf Course and open from May to November. Voted best new course in Canada! Rates vary during the season and packages are available. The course offers up some stunning views over Deer Lake and the mountains beyond and is ideal for walking or playing with the aid of a buggy. Golf trolleys and buggies are available for hire at reasonable prices.
Skiing: Marble Mountain is a 10 minute drive away from the chalet and offers excellent skiing conditions. It has 32 runs of varying degrees (black, red, blue & green) and also has a half pipe and snow boarding park. The mountain usually opens late December until early April. The mountain can get busy during the holiday periods but nothing like in Europe. A large queue for the chair lift is 15 people! Less queuing, lots more skiing. The Lodge offers warm food and hot drinks. A bar offers various social events & hot chocolate with rum! Cat Skiing - Newfoundland is one of the few places where you can ski and see the ocean at the same time - truly spectacular! Cat skiing is available just outside Cornerbrook. X Country Skiing is also available in Cornerbrook. Check out all the activities!
Fishing and other out door activities in the area: Humber River offers some of the best fishing in the world! Excellent Salmon and Trout fishing. See the Salmon swim up stream and jump Big Falls! Amazing sights. Go fishing at sea whilst searching for a glimpse of whale or dolphin. Keep your eyes peeled for moose, caribou or bear whilst enjoying the spectacularly beautiful Gros Morne National Park - a World Heritage Site. Trek through moose country and take a boat trip at Westernbrook Gorge. Quad biking, Kayaking, sailing, trekking is all on offer.
