Lake Norman Cottage Rental Photos and Description
Cottage, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 6)
This lovely Lake Norman home sits on the northern end of the lake and is located 15 minutes from downtown Mooresville, the Lowes Corporate headquarters, Lake Norman Regional Hospital, and most of the major Sprint NASCAR race shops. We are located just a few miles off of I-77 accessible from either exit 36 or 42 in Mooresville, and centrally located between I-40 and I-85. The short drive you make from the interstate to our lake house is one of the most beautiful, peaceful drives in the area, past farmland, through forests, and by beautiful homes.
From the moment you step inside the house you’ll be struck by the gorgeous view of the lake, and you’ll head straight for the deck to soak up even more. Outside, you’ll revel in the privacy of trees and enjoy watching the birds that frequent the feeders. You’ll realize you’ve entered a world away from it all!
The main walk-in floor (which is the upstairs) has an open floor plan with a great room/dining area/fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms, reading alcove, and 1.5 baths. The great room has a sofa, 2 cozy arm chairs, and tv with dvd. The dining area has a table that seats 4 and a bar that seats 4 more. The upstairs bedroom #1 has a queen size bed, walk in closet, ½ bath, and direct access to the upstairs deck. Upstairs bedroom #2 has a double bed and walk in closet. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans for added comfort. The upstairs baths were designed with retirees in mind and feature comfort-height toilets with grab bar, and a step in shower with hand-held sprayer. The reading alcove located right off the kitchen affords a cozy loveseat surrounded by windows with views of the flower gardens and birds outdoors.
Downstairs you’ll find another great room area with TV, kitchenette with full sized fridge, master bedroom, and 1 bath. The master bedroom features a king sized bed, ceiling fan, walk in closet, and full bath. It has direct access to the downstairs deck.
This home has a two car covered parking area adjoining the entrance, as well as additional parking to accommodate a total of four cars.
There are upper and lower covered decks that overlook the lake and are outfitted with porch swings, rockers, and seating for cuddling up with a good book or for outdoor dining. You’ll also find a grill and an open fire pit, for those great cookouts with the family.
We have installed wireless hi-speed internet service for your convenience.
The private pier has a floating boat slip and jetski dock. We have deep water at the pier's end, but our beach area is shallow and perfect for swimming with one of the few naturally sandy beaches on the entire lake. Our kids spent many hours on that beach with shovels & pails! There are a variety of life jackets on site, but because we cannot guarantee we’ll have enough jackets of the particular sizes you need, we suggest you bring your own. We do provide an assortment of noodles and water rafts. Boats and jetskis are available for rent at several nearby marinas.
Fine and casual dining is only minutes away, either by car or by boat, or you can call for pizza delivery. Downtown Mooresville, with its down home ice cream parlor and antique shops, is just a quick drive away. Charlotte is just 45 mins to the south, in case you’re in the mood for museums, concerts, or professional sports. Fun day trips could include Carowinds amusement park, the Biltmore House in Asheville, or Grandfather Mountain. In October, enjoy the hot air balloons at the Carolina BalloonFest in nearby Statesville.

We absolutely LOVED your home and made sure we respected it as if it was our own and more-some!... You have everything covered when it comes to a rental home for sure!
The two things we missed were - Speed Channel on the tv and microwave dishes. ... Again, thank you for having and maintaining such a lovely home. My parents really appreciated staying in this kind of a setting vs. a motel. The gardens were enjoyed and we walked about the yard several times. We would like to book it again in the fall
My family has owned this lake lot since I was twelve, so this is very much my 'homeplace'. We started with a single wide mobile home and spent weekends here. In 1998 my husband and I bought the lot from my parents and we later built a home here.
This is our solace, our haven away from the real world. The quiet, the trees, the chirping birds, all carry us away from the stresses of life as soon as we arrive! I dream of my morning coffee time on the porch swing overlooking the lake.
This is the perfect place to enjoy early morning or after dinner walks. Our house is one of a handful of homes on a privately owned cul de sac at the end of a peninsula on the lake, meaning there is very little traffic to worry about. You can walk your dog, or push a baby stroller, or watch the kids on their bikes on this shady private road.
