Amazing Villa - Highly Recommend

My family (husband and I, my mother, and 2 kids - aged 3 yrs and 18 months) stayed in Stalla Rustica at the end of March 2009. The pictures and description do not do it justice - it is breathtaking! The house is extremely comfortable and spacious. They had everything a family might need, including a crib and an array of toys. The grounds and views are breathtaking. My kids loved the donkey and goat, the swing set, the dogs, the cats, the flowers, and just being able to explore the place. My husband and I hiked around the property and were rewarded with fabulous views. Caroline and Pino are wonderful people - great hosts, friendly and accessible. We were easily able to visit Cortona, Siena and Orvieto by car - I wish we'd had more time and could have visited all the other towns nearby. There is a well-stocked grocery near by, as well as a fantastic pizza place. I would recommend this villa to anyone - those with family, as well as those without (we checked out the other lodgings and they were just as nice as the house we stayed in). I would happily stay here again, and hope to do so in the future.

Relaxation with a young family

If you have a young family and want to get away from it al and not have to worry about your children every few minutes then this really is the place for you. Our family of four - two young children - completely fell in love with this charming retreat and the surrounding area and found Caroline and Pino (the owners) not only very helpful but so friendly and welcoming. Would very much recommend this to anyone looking to put their feet up although Siena and many more attractions are a mere short trip away so if you can tear yourself away from the loverly countryside then make the trip. My advice is go on make the booking - you wont be disappointed.

Two Families--Four Adults, 7 Young Adults, 1 Teen

After two weeks in Italy, our group of 12 arrived at Molino di Bordone to spend the last week of our vacation. The entire group agreed that this was our favorite part of the trip. The accommodations were fantastic--we felt completely at home! Caroline, Pino, and their children were truly wonderful and took such great care of us! The property is lovely with much to do. We swam, rode bikes, used the swingset and trampoline, and played soccer and volleyball.

The farmhouse is in a great location and we were able to easily visit Florence and Deruta by train and car. Pino also graciously drove us in their big minibus to nearby cities, including Cortona, Montepulciano and Pienza. Pino and Caroline hosted a fundraising concert during our stay which we really enjoyed, and arranged for a local chef to give us a cooking demonstration on our last night at the farmhouse. What a great dinner and a fabulous way to end our trip! We had so much fun rolling out the pasta that evening!

There's a supermarket nearby and a small family restaurant with the best pizza that we had on the entire trip. We absolutely loved our stay at Molino di Bordone. Stunning location, beautiful yet comfy accommodations, and most of all wonderful hosts! Thanks Pino and Caroline for everything--we can't wait to come back!
