Open concept dining & living complete with flat screen TV. Convenient powder room on main floor. Hardwood floors throughout. Sit back and enjoy coffee or a beverage from your deck over looking a tropical pool . On the 2nd floor off the Master bedroom, take in the breathtaking views of the Gulf of Mexico from your very own private balcony. On the 3rd floor , relax in this open loft Master suite. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom and TV. Laundry room located on the 2nd floor. Wifi available. Sorry no pets !

One Charleston Place is a unique beachfront community located near the center of the Island and close to Lighthouse Park. Adjacent to the Blue Parrot Oceanfront Cafe, it is just steps away to fabulous fresh seafood dining and live music. Enjoy the private pool that is only exclusively shared with the other 4 Charleston Place homes, with spacious brick decking, outdoor shower and boardwalk to the beach. (Pets are not allowed in the common area.)

What makes this house unique

The wonderful thing about One Charleston Place E is it offers prime location on beautiful St. George Island. To your left you have The Blue Parrot restaurant, & the Jolly Roger Beach shop. You can stop for a snow cone or hot dog at the wagons in the Jolly Roger Beach Shop parking lot. A little ways in front of you is BJ's Pizza, The cut salon, gas stations/grocery store. To your right is the St. George Island lighthouse, park & recreational area with picnic tables and bathrooms. All of this within walking distance. This 3 story house allows you to see everything from your door step. Walk outside your living room to find a beautiful, gated pool with palm tree shades, night lights, outdoor shower, & lounge chairs for everyone in your company. Go outside the other pool gates and you walk directly onto the beautiful Gulf Beach of St. George Island. Everything is within arms reach at this house, not to mention every room has it's own bathroom. We are pet friendly so you don't have to leave your best friends at home! Teens who can't drive yet love it here because they are close enough to walk to the stores & hot spots of the Island. It's also great to walk onto the beach and be within feet of the blue parrot's outdoor dining & tiki bar. You are sitting dead center for the 4th of July fireworks show, chili cook off, or any other event held on St. George Island. You can add golfcart,kayak,chairs,bikes and charter trips for a fee.

Our family get a way.

We enjoyed staying at the place. The owner was great at working with us both before arriving and while we were there. We ranged in age from 1 to 68 and everyone had a good time. It was as clean as can be expected when there is sand everywhere and was large enough that everyone was comfortable.

Not what she used to be

GREAT LOCATION! Beautiful development of 5 identical homes. This one, however, has seen better days. I stayed here several times under previous ownership and while there was over-the-top clutter go with the theme of "the lazy flip flop," it WAS kept up and clean. While some upgrades have been made by the new owner such as new TVs (tiny one in living area though), new beds, etc., the place ain't what she used to be.
When I was last there, I was embarrassed to have brought friends. We literally had to wash the floors ourselves because the bottoms of our feet were turning black from all the dirt. The screens on the sliding doors, both up stairs and down stairs, were torn. The patio furniture (the minimal amount there was) looked like it came from a salvage yard and the cushions were so dirty, no one wanted to sit on them. Ceiling fans are filthy. Doors are cracked like some frat house.
I've been in other units before and wondered if they've gone to hell too so I checked out a couple of them. They are still in great repair. I'm guessing the current owner just wants to make a buck and doesn't care about the comfort of guests or hope to bring repeat renters.
Granted, we didn't call the owner about the issues. (WHY would we? We were on vacation and not there to help him repair his property. He should have known and already fixed these issues.) I have emailed him to see if any of these issues have been addressed since last year. If so, I'd consider renting here again. I'll even write an updated review. If not, I'm done with this one. Too bad, too, because this used to be a great property. Used to be. (My arrival date above is approximate. Because I was staying with friends, I don't want to identify them...this is MY review; not theirs, though they do agree with me!)

Owner's Response: Let me first start off by saying I have no clue who this person is. If they actually ever rented this home according to the response I am reading it says they didn't   a friend did. Number two why would you wait an entire year to post such accusations. This could possibly be a renter who trashed our home last year and brought pets in without our knowledge and a personal vendetta ensued. We own several homes on St. George Island and they are all maintained greatly. And yes of course as with all rental homes occasionally a screen door will get ripped and furniture replaced I can assure you this home is up to par totally practically sold out for this year and already booking up for 2015. Many of these are repeat renters from the past several years and we have had no such complaints other than minor issues to be expected we address them immediately and take care of it. I do not feel that VRBO should even post such an accusation that is unfounded and lacks any merit. Especially coming from a person who did not even rent the home. again I have no clue who this person is. Furthermore there is a 40 inch flatscreen TV that fits inside the television unit in the dining area and it is new. That is the largest television that will fit into that unit and it is more than adequate the outdoor patio furniture is also new. The hardwood floors and tile are cleaned after every rental and are inspected by an inspector. I feel this person has exaggerated to the 10th degree. Our first trip to St. George Island. We had 4 generations in this wonderful house. Loved the house, the location, the furnishings, the location, oh and did I say I loved the location? Look from either balcony and see the pool, with the beach just beyond. I watched the sun come up every morning we were there. You are within walking distance of most everything; restaurants, pool, beach, the lighthouse and the playground. I only have 2 complaints. One, was it would be nice to have more comfortable sitting on the balconies, and Two,,,a week is not long enough! We are hoping to get back there next year. Thanks Jerry for an awesome stay.

One Charleston Place

This was the first time our family stayed in this house. We loved the location.....my grandsons enjoyed going to the park and playing basketball every afternoon. We drove our golf cart everywhere when we needed something and this was easy to do since the house is centrally located to everything you could possibly need. The pool was fantastic and the grounds were very well maintained. We loved the house. The kitchen was well stocked and we found the house to be clean when we arrived. We only had a couple of minor issues with the house. When we arrived we only had 6 towels for the week so I called Jerry, the owner, and the very next morning someone brought us extra towels. We really appreciated his promptness in taking cre of this. He also was kind enough to find us a place to park our trailer for the golf cart. The only suggestion I would have for this house would be to get some good furniture for the balconies. The beautiful views would be so much more enjoyable on some more comfortable outdoor furniture. We love to sit outside so the furniture issue is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Other than this, it is truly a wonderful house and we had an incredible family vacation here and do plan to return. I have already suggested this property to a friend of mine to rent in the future. We really enjoyed the Blue Parrot Restaurant also! Great food and a fun place. It is great that you can just walk right next door to go there! Pam A.
