Quiet location; great light upstairs; good space

This house's greatest virtue is its location: it is located at the end of a road, on a cul-de-sac, and is very quiet. But, no water views, which I greatly miss. No water access, even with a walk. But it is close to town and NO RTE. 6 driving needed to get to town.
The space is good, with (grand)kids downstairs and a private deck off the master bedroom for the adults. Not a huge house; despite the bed count, I would not want more than three or four adults and a few kids here. Downstairs is a touch stuffy and damp; upstairs is a touch too hot (big deck off the living room, but if you forget to lower the blinds before the afternoon sun hits, it becomes way too hot).
We had a problem with the cleaning (cleaners apparently left long before they had finished the job, leaving dirt in the kitchen and unwashed bathrooms). The owners were VERY RESPONSIVE when I reported this. They offered to send the cleaners back, but by then I had spent the first two hours of my vacation cleaning myself and did not want any more intrusions. They fired that cleaning crew and hired a new one (who came to inspect the house, another bit of vacation time lost!).
House is very well-equipped, for the most part. Stove could stand to be renovated or replaced, but the dishes, pots/pans, and silverware were new and excellent (best I have found in a Wellfleet cottage).
My dog was very happy there, and I am grateful to Jeff and Lori for allowing a dog-friendly house.

Thank you for the review. We have just installed air conditioning this week to ensure the mid-day heat is bearable and to reduce the humidity. We agree that this house is best for 3-4 adults and a few kids, and agree as well in the benefits of being in a very quiet spot but close to town and the ability to drive to all of the beaches without going onto Rt. 6. We are continuing to make improvements in the house so we really appreciate your rental and the feedback!
