The house is great but everyone prefers the porch where you can hear the lovely sounds of the stream. Our son likes to stretch out in the swing with his laptop, enjoying both the free WIFI and the sounds of nature. Some prefer a good book and a glass of wine. Sleeping on the porch is like camping in a tree house.
What a PERFECT secluded spot! Wonderful for a getaway weekend or a months stay.Well appointed, clean property with easy access to activities at the lodge restaurant or head into town. Fishing or spa treatment take your pick there is something for everyone. Relaxing porch with swing bed calls out for a quiet nap or catch up on reading time.Outdoor fireplace added just the touch of warmth on the chilly September evening. This one is a keeper, perfect in every way!
My family stayed for four days in July to get away from the 95 degree heat of South Carolina. The Wolfe Lodge far exceeded our expectations. The home is exquisitely decorated, clean, and provided everything we needed to feel comfortable.
The cottage is surrounded by a canopy of trees. I spent many of my lazy afternoons reading on the comfortable swing daybed on the back screened-in porch. The soothing sounds of the creek and nature in the background. My family could keep "plugged in" with wi-fi and directTV.
My daughters (age 10 and 13), my husband and I enjoyed kayaking, golf, hiking, swimming, and eating at the clubhouse. Bear Lake Reserve was the perfect vacation and my family only wants to stay here in the future. If you want to truly relax, enjoy nature, and create lifelong memories, then this is the place for you!
This is a lovely home and the owner is wonderful to work with. You can tell this is a personal home and not just a rental...they have decorated it beautifully and have quality furnishings. The area it is located in (Bear Lake Reserve) is a resort-type setting....nice hiking trails, a beautiful lake with canoes and kayaks. Our only problem is that we didn't plan enough time there....our family said we should have stayed there a week!
This is the first time I have ever written a review.....I know that sounds like a line, but it is true! I just really want to pass on the positive feedback!!
Perfect home, very clean, comfortable and spacious. They property have great amenities, but plan on a 15 min. drive to the lake club.
We rented Wolfe lodge for the long Thanksgiving weekend. I can't imagine a better place! I was looking for a place where my 3 kids would have enough to do to keep them happy so I could relax. Wolfe Lodge was perfect! The house is filled with everything you need. We brought in food and cooked our own meals, the kitchen had all the right tools. It's obvious the owners took great care in furnishing this place, everything is of good quality and taste.
Bear Lake is a huge development. It had enough trails and fishing spots so we never ventured off the property. We loved the little parks, my younger son enjoyed the treehouses. In the warmer months they set up teepees. My older son loved fishing in the ponds and lake. Next time we'll stay longer and check out the surrounding area. The house was so cozy, I was tempted to stay put! The beds are amazing with high end linens! There were enough tv's to keep the kids happy as well as an Xbox and the house had wifi so everyone could be plugged in. I was busy reading on the porch swing (unplugged) while listening to the stream outside.
We purchased Thanksgiving dinner from the club. The food was wonderful and the staff was very accommodating. We drove up to the club a couple of times to look around and it's very nice. Most of the amenities were closed in the winter, but I could see that it's very well maintained and has much to offer. My kids are anxious to come back in the summer and take advantage of the many amenities of the club which are available with the rental.
Wolfe lodge definately lived up to its description! While it was a great place to relax, there is so much to do in Bear Lake and the surrounding area. Well worth the trip and money.
