Photos and Description of the Northumberland vacation cottage rental Beautifully situated on the edge of the glorious sandy beach of Newton Haven

Self-catered cottage close to Embleton Bay with Dunstanburgh Castle on the headland. It is cosy, well furnished and equipped with magnificent views of the beach from the picture windows in the dining kitchen. Set on the end of a square of Fisherman's Cottages in Low Newton,which is now mainly owned by The National Trust, the famous Ship Inn with it's own micro brewery is situated diagonally opposite. Tucked behind the dunes there is a bird hide and sanctuary. Coastal walks are on the doorstep with, castles, water sports, riding and golf available nearby. The cottage has recently been extensively refurbished and provides superbly appointed holiday accommodation. There is a fabulous well equipped dining kitchen, sitting room with log burning stove and two bedrooms, one double and one with bunk beds. There is a sheltered patio area to the rear of the property to sit and watch the world go by with direct access to the beach.

Nearest Beach: beach at 1.0 Metres

The cottage is situated next to the beach on the edge of an old square of fishermen's cottages at Low Newton by the Sea with car parking immediately outside. The nearest general store is 3 miles away in Embleton with The Ship Inn diagonally opposite and The Joiners Arms at High Newton, 1 mile away. Alnwick, famous for it's Garden and The Castle is 8 miles to the South West, Seahouses with trips to The Farne Islands is 8 miles to the north with Bamburgh and The Grace Darling Museum a couple of miles further on. Lindisfarne or Holy Island is about a forty minute drive, tides permitting and Newcastle Upon Tyne with it's lively Quayside and Sage Music Centre is 30 miles south.

The McCoull's cottage in Newton by the Sea cannot be faulted in any way, and I have recommended it to many people.
We stayed in January - an unlikely time for a weekend break by the North Sea - but teenagers, parents, and grandfather all loved it.
It has one of the best locations by the sea, and is in immaculate condition, with a wood burning stove and marvellous kitchen with stunning views.
We are booking it again this year. Cricket on the beach, walks along the shore, a nearby golf course - it is a great place for anyone wanting fresh air and relaxation.
Visitors should stock up with food, although a village shop is in Embleton which is a 30 minute walk along the beach.
The local pub The Ship is about 100 yards away. It has its own brewery and the food is brilliant using local produce.
