House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

Quiet! Waterfront home located in Eden Isles on man made canals.

5 Min. from I-10

You can spend hours boating around the canals sight seeing.

These canals are behind 99% of the homes.

Or enjoy the quaint shops in Slidell's 'Old Town'

It takes about 15 min to boat to restaurant lounges and to Lake Pontchartrain.

From there you have access to other Lakes and Rivers and the Gulf of Mexico.

The boat in the picture is not included in the rental.

If you're bringing a boat I will move mine or if yours is too big for the straps you can tie up to the dock.

The dock also has a sink,running water,electrical power, a place to clean fish and an outside shower to rinse off.

The garage is not available. It's used for storage!

We do not allow party's!

Special events:

End of April & beginning weekend in May is the 'Jazz Fest'!

1st weekend from 27 April to 29 April.

Second weekend starts Thursday,3 May to 6 May.

About Herb Jenssen

I'm a Yankee from Chicago who moved down here to fly helicopters off-shore.

That's when I met this great Cajun girl and I married her.

Our names are Kathy & Herb Jenssen and we hope you enjoy our home.

Herb Jenssen purchased this house in 2006
Why Herb Jenssen chose Slidell

We didn't plan for this to be a vacation rental.

This was to be our second home but things happen and for financial reasons we decided to try vacation rental.

What makes this house unique

You are within 30 min of New Orleans and

Bay St. Louis,Ms.

Gulfport,Ms and Biloxi,Ms are about 1 hour all by Interstate.

Or you can relax and fish and crab off our dock. We have crab traps!

Nationals Softball Trip

We rented this house for our stay while attending my daughters National Softball tournament and loved it. We shared this house with 2 other parents and had a blast. The location was perfect and there was plenty of space for all of us. I would definitely go back and rent again for a family vacation. Your close to everything and only a 20 minute drive into New Orleans. We absolutely loved staying here. The owners were great and very responsive to everything. I would definitely recommend this rental to everyone. We will definitely go back!

Great house in a great location

My family and I sent a month in this house. This is a very clean and well maintained property. The owners are very willing to help with any questions about the area or any concerns you may have. The property has a boat dock with a lift that was capable of lifting my 23' bay boat. Getting to the lake for a day of boating fun is minutes away by boat and New Orleans was less than 30 minutes away.

Would I would recommend this property to friends and relatives? Yes

This place is fantastic and every bit a "jewel in the south." Herb and Kathy were very gracious and friendly and took care of our every need and request while we were guests. The locale is ideal for day trips to all of the local sights and attractions. The fishing was fantastic and very convenient using the canal waterways. I highly recommend this as an ideal destination vacation as well as a memorable visit to New Orleans and the surrounding area.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
