This property is advertised as being located in central Nice but be aware that it is a very long walk to the old town and the bus station. It claimed to have a TV and I had hoped to watch the final stages of the French Open but it didn't work: there didn't seem to be an aerial connection. The agent said it wasn't a TV!
The studio was fairly clean but there was litter behind one of the bed settees and in the corridor outside. The bathroom smelt strongly of drains and this smell (although not as strong) was present when you entered the building. The street outside the building seemed to be the collection point for the local rubbish!
The quality of the bed linen was very poor: a very thin and rumpled sheet and duvet cover and non-matching standard size pillowcases (one needing repair) to fit square pillows. We were only provided with one bath towel each for the duration of our stay and no hand towels.
But our main gripe is the lack of customer service. We arrived at Nice airport at 16.30 but the agent chose to leave the keys at the airport, rather than meet us at the studio and introduce us to the property. There were no instructions provided for operating the bed settee or the TV and we struggled with both. Because we received no response to a text sent at 22.00 I followed it up with a phone call at 15.00 the following day when the agent admitted receiving it and then answered our queries. However, she failed to appear all week so we found it necessary to send another text towards the end of our stay asking what we should do with the keys when we left.
On previous visits to Nice we have stayed in a studio in old Nice where we were always met by the agent: the bed was made up with pristine sheets and the frig always contained a welcoming bottle of water and wine. Although this property was more spacious with a generous balcony, our stay left us feeling that we had not been treated as individuals and from the description on the site our expectations were for a much more enjoyable experience.

We were very surprised to hear the complaints regarding the location of the apartment. The previous comments from all our guests, incliding those who have also provided feedback, find the apartment very central and within easy access to restaurants, shopping and sightseeing. We are not located in the old town of Nice but rather in the neighbourhood called Gambetta. The apartment is a stone's throw away from the beach and less than a five minute walk to the famous Negresco hotel. The old town is no more than a 20 minute stroll along the Promenade des Anglais. However we would suggest guests also try out some of the restaurants and bars closer to the apartment on Rue de France which is no more than 5minutes walk away.
Our guests will find a brochure in the apartment with suggestions of our favourite restaurants and things to see. This brochure also includes instructions on how to use the sofa beds and any other items in the apartment. At the time of the stay of this guest , the TV reception in the city of Nice had just been changed to digital rather than aerial. This is why there was no television stations available, only access to the DVD player. We have since bought a decoder and now receive all French stations.
Finally, although our agent tries to meet guests at the apartment this is not always possible. It is policy to leave keys at the airport if it means guests will have an earlier access to the apartment. We are disappointed with the comments on the customer service, but thanks to your comments we havecaddressed these with our agent to ensure this has been resolved for future guests.
