Enjoy a relaxing stay in Southern California at the MDR Catamaran 1, just steps from the beach in this recently remodeled, two bedroom apartment in Marina del Rey. This bright first floor apartment is conveniently located just a half block from the quietest residential beach in Los Angeles, yet it is just a five minute walk to many of the restaurants and activities of Venice.Walk up one flight of stairs to an open floorplan combined living and dining room with a galley kitchen. Relax in contemporary comfort in front of the fireplace, or watch movies on the 47" flat screen TV with HBO channels as well as a Blue Ray Disc player. The far corner of the living room also has a mirrored bar area. Dining table, with ceiling fan light above, seats six comfortably. Recently remodeled kitchen boasts stainless steel appliances, granite countertop, dishwasher, electric range, built in mircrowave and garbage disposal. Walk down the hall to the first bedroom, which has an Eastern King size bed, 40" flat screen tv and mirrored sliding closet doors. The hallway bathroom is directly across, with pedestal sink, and tub shower combo.The second bedroom at the end of the hall has two queen sized beds, a full length mirror, 40" flat screen TV with DVD player and a large walk-in closet. Also, located off this bedroom is a private bath with walk-in shower and pedestal sink.The apartment is decorated in peaceful, soft hues with tasteful artwork that celebrates coastal living. Flooring is Pergo wood throughout with dark grey linoleum in bathrooms. All kitchen and bath fixtures are new. One outdoor assigned parking spot comes with the apartment and will fit up to a mid sized car. Each room has individual heating controls and gas fireplace has an easy push button start.As most beach properties along the California Coastline, this property is not equipped with an A/C unit. With average beach temperatures ranging from 65 to 75 degrees year round, air conditioning is not generally needed in our beach areas. For our warmer days, each of our beach properties is equipped with portable ventilator fans which, when combined with open windows, allow the fresh ocean air to circulate and cool your property to a very pleasant temperature.

It's located in a cute little alley way that makes walking to the beach a really cute journey. You'll meet Zoey the dog and maybe even get to feed the pet squirrel a few houses down. It was a clean condo and had everything we needed. I loved it.

The apartment/condo was nice and met the approval of both my wife and sister who accompanied me during my stay. The representative who greeted us at the property on our scheduled arrival time, was lovely. All the necessary information about property features, including; access, security, internet, etc... were reviewed. The area dining options were provided with other great info like bike and beach toy rental at very reasonable rates arranged by our greeter/management company. The location was excellent with quick access to Venice Beach and the marina. We enjoyed our stay with morning walks and skateboarding down the famous Venice beach walk and Saturday morning at the Santa Monica farmers market filled the clean and well equipped kitchen with fresh fruit and healthy snacks for the duration of our stay. The weather cooperated with cool mornings and beachwear afternoons. Sunny and beautiful.
We wish we had booked a longer stay.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Families with Young Children

Great place for relaxing

We stayed at this apartment and it was perfect in everyway. It was clean and crisp. The kitchen had everything we needed. Very close to beach and main street with bars and restaurants but not so close that it was loud. We had our two teenager children so it was nice that they were able to go back to the apartment and go out to the bars, etc. It is not very far from Venice Beach but far enough away so that the immediate beach is calm and lovely. We will stay here again if we are in the area.
