My husband and I just had a delightful long President's day weekend at this apt.
We can't say enough about it. From the minute we arrived the doorman helped us with luggage and gave us our keys.
The apt. opens up to a lovely grand foyer that opens to each room. There is light everywhere as this spacious apt. has
three exposures with lots of windows in every room including the bathroom and eat in kitchen (beautiful views too) .
The apt. was immaculate, the decor is contemporary and sophisticated. Everything is of the highest quality.
The bedding was of a 5 star hotel quality right down to the Louis Vuitton decorative throw pillows, a first for me! As for the area, you are literally in the center of everything you need and lots of transportation options,
And you're in the lovely and quiet west village area for strolling, shopping and dining. Don't miss a stay here. I'm glad we didn't!
I had the time of my life for a long weekend. I used to live in NYC and this apartment was what I wanted. The location is superb. Everything is right out your door with a wonderful gourmet grocery, restaurants and shops. I cook a lot and was able to make a fabulous dinner for friends as the kitchen is fully furnished with the best there is to offer. The apartment has wonderful furnishings and some amazing art. The bed and bath are very comfy and quiet. I will be staying the next go around. Thank you Chris for being so accommodating. The doormen are dolls too!
First, let me say that the apartment is quite nice. Great location within easy walking distance of nice, winding West Village streets. The pictures are accurate and the apartment is large by West Village standards. But here are 3 things you should know.
1. The apartment has a smell of gas. It's not strong, but it did cause my wife and me some concern. We tracked it down and found that it was coming from a large gas stove in the kitchen. When we contacted Chris about it, he responded that it's an old stove with a lot of pilot lights, not to worry and to crack a window.
2. I've stayed in NYC often and of course the city is noisy, but I must say that this apartment has more siren noise than I've ever heard before. I attribute it to the hospital that is just down the block.
3. When we arrived, Chris was in the apartment [rather than leaving the keys with the doorman as agreed] and was unprepared for our arrival. He was very nice about it when we explained that, yes, we had rented the apartment for the weekend. He ran around and cleaned, offered us wine, etc. But still ... I'll just chalk it up to a mixup in his calendar since I haven't seen others post about this problem.
So those are the issues. If none is a concern to you and you want a spacious apartment in the West Village, rent this one.
I have spent nearly two years of my life in New York for work and pleasure and I must say that I think this was the best accommodation choice I have ever made. During the booking process Chris was very responsive to questions about the flat and the rental process, and also went way beyond what I would expect by allowing me to use his mobile to secure a restaurant booking that insisted on a USA contact number.
When we arrived at the apartment we were so pleased with our choice - significantly more space than a hotel room, light and airy, nicely decorated/furnished and a fantastic location to get around the areas of Greenwich, SoHO and beyond! The concierge was really good - always welcoming and also providing help/advice when we needed it!
I will definitely be back. Thanks Chris for letting us into your home.
I recently completed a 5 night stay at this wonderful flat and would definitely stay here again. Chris was very responsive and super easy to deal with. Comfy bed, nice linens, sunny and spacious. The apartment is located on 8th floor of a full service building. The front desk people are very friendly and helpful. The living room has a nice view of 7th Avenue and the bedroom has roof top views to the south and west. Tastefully decorated and conveniently located on the 1,2,3 subway line at the corner. Stroll a couple blocks to the High-Line & Meat packing District. Just around the corner from all the great shopping on Bleeker Street.
Great apartment in a wonderful location in NYC. Apartment was large and comfortable. No noise from neighbors or from outside. Doormen were very friendly, and on top of their job - no guests or unknown visitors could make it past those guys! Could not be more convenient to the subway, great shopping and restaurants nearby. Super close to the Union Square Green Market for wonderful local produce and artisan breads and cheeses. Pasti's is just down the street, as is the Highline, Chelsea Market and numerous local West Village hangouts. Thanks to Chris and Joseph for sharing this wonderful location!
